a difficulty setting would be nice, this way a player can experience either a story or a challenge.

Pretty much ALL R* games have no difficulty options. The difficulty is set into the game for the player. That kinda falls under the use of a rails system. I think they need to move away from that.

The reason I'm not upset about it is because the challenges and difficulties usually go pretty high in each game. This makes a good quality game.

You can almost call the way of presetting the difficulties a cornerstone in Rockstar's developments.

I never played that game. Most games of theirs don't though.

Well it'd only be a setting that could be changed at any time. Or at the very least a challenge mode at the end in which enemies are far more brutal and have higher damage/attack rate etc.

I've said it before but if it were Bully 1, it'd be endless fights in the hole with tougher enemies in unusual combinations as well as changes in attack rate/damage and whatever else to give it variety.

As time goes by AI in games become more advanced. If you guys have seen any of the Hitman Absolution trailers and interviews you would see a lot about advanced AI.

Aye, for example, MGS4 was the first MGS game where enemy soldiers can climb ladders.

Manhunt 2 has difficulty settings

^ I do slightly recall difficulties being there.

When the PS4 comes, or any other future consoles, developers will need to find new tech or improve what they got just to keep the development on games going with the next console.

It's hard to envision what new tech might be like. How the hell the could they make a new console, not just with slight hardware & software upgrades?

Well they'll have at least another year to come up with it. Anything is possible.

No, they don't. The PS4 already needs to be in development. They can't just make it in a year. Whatever it is, its already being made.

It is in development. But it will take around a year to make it. AT LEAST. Some Playstation consoles didn't arrive for over a year.

The PS2 didn't arrive for quite a few years. And the wait we had for the PS3 was a few years too. That's why I was pretty surprised to hear that the PS4 is already in development. The PS3 has barely been in the spotlight.
