Ps1 controllers seem to be better. I probably went through around 10 ps2 controllers. But that may be because ps2 pissed me off sometimes and I smashed it all over the wall.

 My sister has her own PS2 and it came with a white controller (to match the console) and I've used that and it works like a charm.  The only difference is when you are aiming with the slingshot, the up and down arrows are reversed on her controller....?

Why the hell does an option like that even exist?  Who wants their controls to do the exact opposite of what they are labeled for?

 I dunno, most games use fairly universal controls.  X is almost always run or jump.  Sometimes square and circle can switch roles, but its consistant for the most part.  Triangle usually deals with viewing or aiming....

Basically. And they are always close enough that you can switch them in the options menu.
