Title: Most Helpful Modder?
Post by: Al Arlington on June 12, 2012, 07:11:53 PM
The board says "general modding discussion" and I thought of this ages ago.
So. Who do you think is the most HELPFUL modder and why?
Apologies if I missed someone out. I only added the GREATEST modders on my mind at the time and creation of the poll.

My answer is Madman since he always offers advice or assistance to newbies, comes up with tools to make Bully modding easier and is very polite. Unlike some GTA modders I know, but thats a different story.

^Added to poll.
I once PM'd him on YouTube abut skin modding where he gave me a simple and helpful tutorial followed by "If you have any more questions ask here http:\\bully-board.com"
Or something along those lines.  I'll see if I still have it in my box.
Plus he was one of the first people to greet me here when I signed up. (I had TERRIBLE grammar then)

You should remove him he shouldn't be part of the list just saying.

I'll think about it.
I went through my YT inbox and found the message. Bad news is it links me to the very begining of my messages on YT. :/

Red gets a nice hearty vote from me!

I would have voted for Steman too but you can only vote once.....

Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?

Madman wins my vote, but if I could vote twice Steman would defiantly be next. Although the person who really helped me first was that kid who comes on from time to time, I forgot his name but he helped me out first when I couldn't change skins.

Bulllymodder123 is actually very nice and has definitely came more advanced in modding since he first joined, WAAAAY more advanced.

And yeah.. Gman has my respect, but not the most helpful around here. Which is fine to me though, he is great at making videos.

I appreciate the votes that I have been getting since it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside....even tho I have never aspired to be the top modder or even the best at anything. But it is nice to have my hard work recognized by others and seeing people using some of the mods I either created myself or helped create is pretty cool.

I am about to release even more stuff so just sit tight and watch teh release forum....gonna make a post here in a bit about my bodyguard mod which I will release sometime friday after RedBlaster gets the vid for it cranked out. Plus this gives me time to try and fix a couple nagging bugs with the code........one of which I will explain in the release topic shortly.

Your the Rysouke of Bully. (Rysouke was a famous GTA modder who did some amazing bug fixes and some amazing mods.)
Or Hackman. (He too is a famous GTA modder who actually managed to get an ingame Timecyc editor for GTA with no crashes)

Well, I mean.. Gov is not helpful like the other modders on here, but he is still a member so I don't think talking trash is a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, you did, and I still remember the fighting style tutorials through hex editing. But that was mainly on youtube back in the day.

There was a period of time though where you disappeared...I think it was because your PC bricked or something?
Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?
Post by: UltimateGamer1 on June 14, 2012, 05:15:23 PM
My old pc bricked on me but I can still make tut's on it. I will add many written and visual tut's for newbies,so
before Madman releases the scripts i'll get back to work. I am just very busy and never really on pc much anymore. I am getting a new gaming laptop and it has a 9600 GT it should run Bully easily.

Don't get offend if no one votes, I would of voted but unfortunately you can only vote once, I think it's only because Madman is really active and he spends a lot of his time modding for us, which pretty much no other Bully modder does.

It really doesn't matter though, everyone of the modders are helpful in different ways.

True.
Even though I'm not the most skilled Bully modder (my Bully modding skill is limited, I can only give advice, since PC is too crap to run it) if someone needs help with GTA modding, I'll assist as much as I can.
I'll refuse to help out if they are abusive and swearing at me.

I wonder who voted for him................

My vote went to Madman, he taught me most of what I know. Him Steman, and Redblaster have all created a great environment for Bully modding, and without them, I don't know where we would be. It's good to see them get some recognition.
On another note, good to see I got one vote, glad I can help some people.

Well I voted for myself, i think iv'e done enought to at least get one vote even if it was me who voted!, aside from that i think the most helpful modder which is the question would have to be red hands down and if i got a 2nd vote it would certainly go on him as his posts keep the board alive

Steman, you have defiantly been helping us, but Gman is another story. So not trying to diss him or anything but if gman voted for himself that was a very arrogant thing to do.

Now the only person left without a vote is UG.

I know 1 person who voted for GMan.
I actually do, should I mention his name?

Also, I have a hunch who voted for him 2nd too.....

Steman, you have defiantly been helping us, but Gman is another story. So not trying to diss him or anything but if gman voted for himself that was a very arrogant thing to do.

I don't actaully know who voted for GMan the 2nd time, but I can only imagine.  :hmm:

Thats true.
I feel slightly bad for him. :/

I seen his topics and he does help out a quite a bit with some helpful tutorials.

Yet, with all respect intact for GMan, I thought he did help out a bit too, since I came back after GMan got a section. (Read his section rules and what Chuck wrote & what I mean.)

Mad, that crazy old cracka'.
He presented Lua to our community and made it a playground for modders.

Any poll with "MadmaN" on it should allow for 2 votes, rofl.
This the 3rd poll I know of that he has won.
Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?
Post by: SWEGTA on August 29, 2014, 05:05:01 AM
It's crazy!
But there's a reason behind it all. Gman did some interesting things, but never really shared much info on any of it.
Mad on the other hand welcomed the community to dig in and investigate.

Steman
Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?

Steman got into some heat with Mad and decided to get up and leave.
Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?
Post by: Unknownsoldier on September 26, 2014, 02:32:22 AM
^ I know, but he was very helpful while he was present. No matter what, I can't deny MadmaN being helpful. Without him most people here probably wouldn't even be able to make ALMOST fully customizable mods(Lua mods)
Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?
Post by: SWEGTA on September 26, 2014, 03:40:38 AM
I think Steman was a big part of this community, but he was more of a sidekick when it came to working with Mad.
That sort of being a reason why the two got into an argument over credit. It's a shame, since they did work on some cool projects that probably won't ever get released.

Nah, its MadmaN

Mad has more experience, but when it comes to activity and releasing fresh content, DaBOSS takes the cake.
He has passed Mad on that level a long time ago.
Title: Re: Most Helpful Modder?
Post by: MadmaN on October 01, 2014, 11:03:46 PM
The amount of mods or releases matters not one bit in the long run. What matters the most is the quality of any single release by any modder...and this is something I take seriously. Besides, I am not in any competition over who can release the most mods or over how fast releases can be given to the community to enjoy. I personally have never been about the amount of releases I can chuck out but more about how good the quality is for my own personal work and I spend a lot of my time helping others anyways rather then focusing on solid releasing of this or that. ;)
