I think they just saw the proverbial "writing on the wall".  Some people left because the either got bored with the game and discussing it or had something come up in their life.

Oh I love to read the tales of the "old board." Too bad I'm too much of a newbie to even know what that is. I think many of the older users you guys knew, lost hope and decided there was no reason for them returning. And got tired of discussing like mentioned earlier.

I don't believe people shoukd give up on games. Even if you're the only person supporting it, at least that one person gives some hope. When there's nobody what's the point?

It just shows a developer that people still like and support their works. Seeing that ANYONE still supports their games will give a developer some inspiration.
