Why does everyone seem to believe that Bully 2 will have Jimmy Hopkins as the protagonist again? You all talk about "Jimmy In College this" and "Gary Returning to take revenge on Jimmy that" BORING!!
Why does nobody think that creating your own character will be a better option?
Something like Saints Row 2 where YOU create absolutely everything about YOUR main character. From his voice to his face and body size and even play online with him.
Now wouldn't you prefer that option instead of boring old Jimmy Hopkins again?

^ Actually, I'm the one that has been saying all along that if there ever is a Bully 2 there will be all different characters in an all different setting. It would be foolish to just carbon-copy the game and try to market it again....That was already done with Bully SE.

I wouldn't mind having a create your own character. You sure ain't going to play as Jimmy, Rockstar has never did this. And I don't see why they'd start with this one.

Well, uh... I first was disappointed to see you couldn't create your own character in Bully, but playing for a while with Jimmy Hopkins made me love him. I want to see him in Bully 2, but not as a protagonist, more some passive person for the people who played Bully to find. If Rockstar creates another character that is so cool like Jimmy, I don't mind not having to create him.

And a list of about 20 pre selected names for your character would be good.
Each name obviously would have been recorded with all the characters saying it throughout the game
So all you do is select one and your ready to go

I just think Bully 2 should be so much more customizable than bully 1 which was a very restrictive game.
Also i think online play should be heavily worked on as it seems more people play online than single player these days.

Online would be ok I'd play it, but FPS games are what dominate the online right now. They'd have to make it fun and addicting. Like with GTA I felt they could of did more stuff with the online than they did.

Something like Saints Row2 Co-op mode online would be most ideal.
But since its Rockstar it will probably be like RDR online which is very fun aswell
GTA4 online let me down though. I hope Bully 2 online wont be anything like that

Yea having a coop mode would defiantly put a lot of fun in the online portion. And your right Rockstar hit gold with how good RDR was online.

Chuck, actually, their names were taken of the NES. I came up with Calderone in a book I'm reading about the Corleone Mafia Family. Calderone was a big guy back then. For Loiselle, I remember reading it in a Tom Clancy's thing. It's made for the reader to know immediately that this guy is french.
The NES is an acronym for Never Ending Story. The NES is a story I started written together by many members of the board, found under the Community Stories section.

It wouldn't be a bad idea. you can create and edit your own character. You can edit what he wears and his physical fitness. Then, just to keep Jimmy in the story, Your character is shown the ropes by Jimmy and works missions with him. Later though, Gary will appear. You get blackmailed by Gary to betray Jimmy. Not until the end do you go back with Jimmy and defeat Gary once again. This "create your own character" thing can make a third party in the game story and completely change it.

I think It would be Awesome If we played as A character from another game. Example: Niko Bellic Drives into bullworth and you play as him. Or John Marston Comes to bullworth in a time machine.

It was really unfair that the snow in Bully didn't last a little bit longer. As a New Englander I can tell you that winters are rarely that short.

Well, they could be unlockable groups OR you could play as 'new kids' such (customize hair, clothing, facial features, etc) as Jimmy and have to 'level' up, per se. This could be done similar to the style of Saint's Row II, where you make your character, but it's never indicated whether or not you're male or female when NPCs speak to you. Perhaps you could even join a clique later in the multiplayer if you do certain missions and reach certain 'levels' of respect, popularity, strength, whatever. I think it would create a VERY open atmosphere and would also pave the way for LOADS of DLC.
So, say you want to be a Greaser, you have to fight XX preps, vandalize stores they go to or their homes, dress like Greasers, etc. Like you have a certain criteria to meet prior to your clique initiation.
So this way, you won't have three Algies running around, and everyone will be different.

^ That is kind of sad, but the reason for that is they don't care about online that much. They put all their effort in sp and that's a great thing. If you look at it mp in all games, mostly with consoles are dead in a few years. With sp you can always go back to playing it, dead mp you can't play it anymore.

It's according really, especially what type of game. How much maintenance is done to the servers as well. I forgot to mention though once a lot of game start slowing down, developers will turn off a lot of servers. Usually only leading to having enough with what the population is in game. That also leads to the still being able to find games, less servers with less people make it easier to find the match.

Anyways, back on topic, yes. Even though Jimmy was highly customizable unlike many other Rockstar games. The Create-A-Character feature takes longer time to create, having to make all the different faces, voices, hairstyles, etc. IF Rockstar are to do the create a character thing, I don't think the voice should change, that would be of too much trouble and would probably take longer (I REALLY don't want that). An idea would be that, just like the first GTA, you could pick out of various characters. They're all the same inside, but physically they're not. The name stays the same, because when discussing the game in forums as this, I would find it annoying calling the main character, "The protagonist" instead of just the name, like Jimmy. So in a way, I agree with you but I believe I have made my point on the other hand.

You got major arguments there, and you're right. In Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, you could choose between five characters, and then customize their clothes, their hairstyles and their tatoos by entering shops.

What I would have really liked would have been a lot better boy / girl balance. I understand this is primarily a Bully fighting game, yeah....But at least twice or three times as many girls would be a bit more real.

I agree with that as well, every girl was a whore in the game lol. I'd settle for a map about the same size if they'd make the school bigger, and add a lot more students. GTA IV was huge, so I know they'd be able to do it.

Does anyone know how many missions they have, on the average, in a GTA game ? I know Bully's total is listed at 79 (in the regular game, I don't know how many missions are in SE).....
Be curious to know. If it's about the same, then sure, they could have expanded the map.

If you were to take most of R*'s free-roam works and compare the maps to Bully, Bully is quite small. I really think Buly needs a bigger map no matter how you look at it.

I'm not sure how many it's at Chuck. But your right they could made it bigger, it can't be impossible, that's for sure just looking at any of the GTA's. Maybe they weren't sure how the game would be liked, therefor they didn't want to make it bigger.

Now thinking about it, Bully seems to be the smallest map in R*'s works. EVERY free-roam game, even ones that R* didn't make, have big maps. Free-ROAM. You need a place to roam. Not much of that in Bully. You feel kinda confined.

Bullworth is the perfect size. It doesn't even need to be an inch bigger!
all R* really need to do is add in more deph and more interaction in and around the school.
the game was just as fun in season 1 before the school gates opened as it was in season 2,3,4&5 don't you agree?

Bully's map is nothing in comparison to other games by R*. That map could've been bigger. For a free-roam game it could use a makeover. Bully's map is one of the smallest I've seen in any free roam game. Maybe THE smallest.

I think it can be as big as possible. Its a free-roam game. The more space and places you got to roam the better. If you're in a small map then you're not really roaming. Its more like confinement.

One school I went to was strict and had a dress code. You werent allowed to wear tank tops 'cause it "exposed too much" of your body. One time I was wearing a t-shirt with "HELL" on the back of it. The staff ganged up on me and went crazy. They tried to force me to change my clothes. My shirt was "negative upon other students".

You would certainly get a call sent home. Not that our parents cared much. These schools were complaining about a fuckin' SHIRT. We didn't beat someone to death, we didn't steal someone's belonging's, it was 'cause we had on a SHIRT that the school gave us a hard time. Our parents got pissed at the school. We're now out on the streets hanging out and missing a day of school because of SHIRT. This shirt wasn't doing any harm, but according to the dress code it was. They say that shirts with beer brands will "influence others to drink alcohol". The schools are more backwards than the students most of the time.

I like when I can customize my character. Its mostly military based games I see the "create your character" option. Syphon Filter had it. Army of Two especially has it. Some sports games have it too.

Most of Rocktar's games don't give you the ability to make your own characters. That's what makes R* so great. They make the characters.
(Does anyone notice that almost ALL of R*'s games uses the same mini-map/radar design on the HUD?)

They were going to let you name your character in GTA 3, but then did away with it. That's why he's silent in the game. As for the map yea I've noticed that, I think it works just fine, I like using it.

So do I. I like the radar they give you. It wasn't until I played a few of R*'s free-roam games that I noticed they were using the same radar in the HUD.

In the next game I'd like to see some difficulty settings put in. I know Rockstar usually don't do this with their games. But it'd be a nice treat for more dedicated fans looking for a challenge.

That's one thing I've noticed as well. Pretty much all R* games don't give the option of difficulty settings. Its just pre-set by R* to become more and more difficult as the game progresses. If you think about it, most things in their games are pre-set by them.

Bully was fun. It was something for kicks. Anyone who gets LA Noire is gonna have quite a hard time. You WILL be going back for second runs on cases. This game is nothing near simple.

I for one don't really care whether they have customizable characters or not. I think it would be better for them to create the character, like always, so they can focus on other more important things.
For online, I agree with other people- it would be good to customize characters so we don't all look the same. I imagine it would be SO fun to beat people online or get my ass kicked as well. Its a good idea to be able to join a clique online so that we could set up "clique wars".
The only drawback I see to that is that more people might choose to join a clique over another, creating an imbalance.
It would be cool if you could create your own clique, sort of like a clan, so that all the B-B members could be together and kick ass :D

I like the whole "create you own clique thing". Go around and recruit people to join you. That would be nice.
I like being able to make and edit my own character. One game I saw this in was Syphon Filter: Omega Strain. To have R* use such a feature would be something new since they've never done it yet.

I personally think, it should be a thing where you pacify all the local cliques, and then take the fight to other gangs with all the people you recruited.

Well in my Bully 2 concept Create-a-Character is in there. You go along a set storyline like Bully but with a created character. For the names it cold be a pre-set list, just not saying the name, or a single set name that you get no matter what.
EDIT: You know what? I'll change it to a pre-set character to keep it simple. ;)

It would be nice at least you can choose your clique is very annoying because I you be bound to be one that you do not like.
And also when your clique choose your fighting style would be equal to them, you choose a mentor and won their skills some more for you can follow the game with Jimmy (invincible).

There can be a lot of things done with Jimmy, people saying he's done or there can't be anything left in store for him have little to no, story writing talent. CaC would be nice but that's Saints Row over there with Adult Swim. This is Bully over here with Rockstar.

It'd be cool if we had Create A Character. Plus I believe Jimmy could definitely still have a major role in the game, it's just that it would be cooler if he was relagated to a more supporting role in favor of a potential custom main character that the player can completely design themselves and decide the path of without the game doing so automatically in the story.

They made A FEW silent protagonists. almost all of the GTAs. I don't think 5 to 7 voices would be possible.

Under the consideration that Rockstar kinda...Well failed at making a character creator with the recent...Ugh GTA Online character creation. I think that if they made anything like Saints Row 2's character creation we'd basically have a scenario where blue skinned aliens with long hairy legs and no shirt are kicking little kids in the crotch while running from the police....
