I always play the one in the beach-house... Starship 2000 3D?? I always win that one!
That's the only one I kind of like! Only because it's not such a pain. I hate the other one though. The one in the dorm.
Oh, and after you play that one, it says at the bottom something like "® 1995 All Rights Reserved" which makes me think Bully is set in 1995!
-
Nut shots was the only one I could tolerate. Monkey fling and that one in the dorm were my least favorite.
-
Nut shots was a little long too. I think you have to get to 70,000 or something close to there?
Too much.
-

I think it's '06/'07. There's a poster in the school saying something about no car models after 2007 can be driven around town.
But we should make a topic about the year if we want to discuss that.
-
Really? Where is that located?
-
All right, I'm on it!
-
Go Dave, GO!
-
Here it is.
I think it's 1995 due to the arcade games.
-
Really? Where is that located?
There's a few. By the geography room/school shop/basement entrance...
I'll brb. I'm gonna boot up the game and get a few pictures.
-
Yes please do.
I need to check this out also!

^^^ UHHH....Isn't this the topic ??
-
I just split it, Chuck, from "Nerd Challenge."
-

Hate to burst your bubble there, Dave-O....But arcade games were around in the early 80s.
-
I just split it, Chuck, from "Nerd Challenge."
Ok, Check.
-
I know, but I'm just saying. That's one part of my reasoning for that time period.
Also, lack of major computers, and the cars look older.
-
lol, the cars look like they are from the '60s.
-
I say '90s!
Chuck, what's your final word?
-
Annnnnd....So what if a (c) shows up on the game ? You think shitty Bullworth Academy would have NEW arcade games for it's loser students ?
I say, it was 2006-07 school year.
-
Why? What backs up that conclusion?
-
The scoreboard is too modern...
-
I would say 2006-2007 as that is when the game was made.
-
They had electrical scoreboards in the '90s!
I would say 2006-2007 as that is when the game was made.
So would I, except I think the cars are too old.
-
Sheesh...Look around. EVERYTHING is old at Bullworth. Old bulidings, Old cars, Old crappy clothes, Old computers, Old telephones, Old carnival games, Old arcade games. It's all a throwback. This is a place that never moved into the 21st century. And, it was done by design. The rest of the world has moved on, but Bullworth Academy and the towns are all stuck in the past. That's the whole premise for it being the 'worst school' !!
-
Hmm, well reasoned.
But I'm still sticking by my opinion!
-
Shit, you don't even remember 1995, do you ?
-
Maybe not, but I do remember '06 - '07.
-
At Bullworth Academy ?
-
It kills me that some of the "new buildings" are so old looking. The Harrington House was suppoed to be relatively new, but much of the architecture is very old in style and technique. I also see lots of wood laths/horse hair plaster. Jesus Christ, that hasn't been used since pre-WW2.
-
Doesn't the Bully Facebook page say '06/'07 as well? Then again, you can't really trust it 'cause of all the mistakes.

The calender matches September 2005, and September is usually the month everybody is sent back to school.
I think Rockstar just wanted to throw in the '70s/80's/whatever stuff to appeal to the older players or something.
-
At Bullworth Academy ?
Hasn't happened yet! :p
On a random note: I love the 'Old Building' look.
-
Interesting finds. I always tried to zoom in on the calenders, but with no success.

Wow! I'm impressed! Good work detective Monk!

Where are those again?
I want to check this out!

When I was a kid, I went to this old school, built in 1914 !! We had wood floors and radiators, big windows and tall celings. Heating the place in the winter was a bitch, and forget about AC.
When I saw the screenshots of the classrooms at Bullworth, it reminded me of that.
Point is, it doesn't have to be nessessary new. It's a shitty school just for the fact it's so old and falling apart.
-
1914?! Awesome!
My HS was built in 1950. Not quite as shitty as Bullworth.
-
The HS I went to was built in the early '50s and the college I go to is from the early 1900s.
-
I love old schools.
Except the lack of AC.
-

Look next to the geography room.

I second this so much.
-
I've been to way too many high schools to care about when they were built.
-
I've only been to one. Hahaha.
-
I was in HS as the building was being renovated.
-
I love old schools.
Except the lack of AC.
AC isn't hard to install. Old schools spook the hell out of me sometimes. Somebody hung himself in my elementary school classroom in 1932...
-
^ They can't put it in my HS because supposedly it needs to be preserved because it's "historic."
I say the hell with that. No one will notice.
-
Hah, when I went to HS, I went one year to the 'old' HS building (1911) before having to go cross town to the new HS building.
I always liked those real old buildings. You had places to hide if you were ditching class, or just wanted a smoke somewhere in private. It was great. The new school ? Pffft.
-
There's a haunted room in my college. I had class in that room once and I was freaked the fuck out. It's this old building, it used to be a Catholic College before becoming the current college in the '60s. I guess that room used to be part of a monestary and a monk died there. The door would always slam shut and the lights often went on and off.
-

How the hell do they expect it to stay like that?? It's a high school!! Kids break shit! It's jsut a fact!
-
Bonus, I actually went to 3 different buildings for my HS....
Because of the way our school district was laid out, there were too many kids for the 'old' HS, so they had all freshmen go the 9th grade at one of the two Jr. Highs. Then, I was 1 year in the old building, and 2 years in the new building.
-
I've been to five different schools in my life. I was also home schooled for a bit.
-
I've only changed schools once. And they were only down the road.
But all 4 years of HS, the same building.
-
I had 2 high schools. One for freshmen and sophomore, and one for junior and senior...
-
What's odd is....Both those buildings are still standing. My 'old' HS is now a senior living center, with apartments where the rooms were, and my grade school is still being used as a school, even though that was added on to.
-

Hahaha! That's cool!
-
I visited there awhile back, just for 'old' times sake (ha ha), and it was strange.....
I was able to see our old study hall...They put a wall down the middle, dividing it off into 2 apartments. Weird.
I only went back to the new one once. Everything seemed so tiny. I located my old locker, and wondered just how in the hell I ever put anything there.
-
I generally don't get to revisit my old schools because I'm the youngest.
And they don't just let random people inside to take "a peek."
-
I think I was able to go in because they had the 'open house' deals for the community.
Nobody checked my ID.....
-
Hmm, maybe they assumed a 25-year-old like yourself was interested for later! ;)
-
Chuck is 25?
-
I don't know. Are you, Chuck?
-
Here it is.
I think it's 1995 due to the arcade games.
Just because the arcade game says copyright 1995 doesn’t mean that the game takes place in ‘95. There are plenty of people who have arcade games in their house today. Hell, there’s a burger joint around here that has a classic Mrs. Pac-man game in it, and I don‘t think the people that go/work there are teleported back to 1981.
-
lol, my uncle has an old pacman and asteroids game from the '80s in his house.
-
We had one on our garage a few years ago.
The thing hadn't turned on for the last 10 years we had it. Haha
-
I had a pinball machine!
-
Gotta love pinball. It's a classic.

The calender matches September 2005, and September is usually the month everybody is sent back to school.
I took a look at the calendar in the PS2 version and noticed that the first day started on a Friday. If the academy starts in September like most normal schools, the date would be September 2006.
-
I just noticed, they spelled the word "calendar" wrong in the game! :D
-
And it looks like I fell for the mistake. Oh well.
-
So ? You expect them to spell it right ? It's Bullworth Academy !
-
This is true.
-
Well, The timeline of the game is vastly unclear. Design influences (of cars and architecture) point to a possible setting in the 1980s or 1990s, but there are also other objects hinting at a setting in 2006, 2007 or 2008.
■A reference to the year being 1992-1995 as the setting can be seen in one of the various arcade machine minigames
■School sports flags show the school as champions as recently as 1998-1999.
■On their website they say it is fall 2006.
■A poster can be seen in the Jock Clubhouse that dates to 2005, and another to 2007.
■Mr Galloway alludes to surfing "dubious sites" on the internet. Additionally, two modern computers can be found in the basement bedroom of Dragon's Wing Comics.
■In contrast to the above, the School Library has a couple of vintage, 70s-80's-esque monochrome-screen computers.

I think it would be safe to say '06-'07. The cars look like they are from the '60s-'80s and the architecture is WAY older than that. Most of the interior and exteriors of the buildings look like they are from 1950 and prior.
-
Thanks for that! I meant to go around and take more pictures, but never did. I'm not very far in the PC version anyway.
My thoughts on the arcade games:
Here it is.

I still believe that the '70s/'80's stuff around Bullworth are to appeal to the older people who play the game, like the pepole who grew up in the 1980's.
■On their website they say it is fall 2006.
■A poster can be seen in the Jock Clubhouse that dates to 2005, and another to 2007.
FALL 2006. By the time you unlock the Jock Clubhouse (and Chapter 4), Christmas (and New Years) will have passed, bringing the game into winter, spring, and (endless) summer '07.
-
^ That last is just my position. Not gonna have that stuff in there if it ain't happened yet.
