Bully 1 Discussion / Bully's Offical Website Archived
« on: March 13, 2021, 06:57:17 PM »
Back in 2011, Rockstar was feverishly updating old game websites to remove certain trailers - presumably because they lost rights to certain elements. At the time, that prompted me to try to archive as much of Rockstar's websites as I could with the plans to create a "Rockstar Games museum". Eventually as my enthusiasm for Rockstar waned due to the constant pushing of Shark CardsTM, this project never went anywhere.

Last year after Flash was killed by Adobe, Rockstar unceremoniously removed all of their game websites that used Flash. Luckily, I still had a large number of the website content I had archived long ago.

Introducing an early version of the RockstarMuseum, with a mostly complete copy of the Bully official website.

The website mostly works in modern browsers without Flash thanks to the Ruffle emulator. Compatibility with later versions of Flash sites is still in development, so you will notice bugs with the Bully site until these are fixed. Any Flash videos will not play due to a combination of Ruffle not supporting FLV files and the way Rockstar hosted these files.

As for the other game websites in the Museum, I'm still working on fixing up broken links and missing files when I have free time.

News & Updates / Bully-Board Was Compromised
« on: March 13, 2021, 06:33:02 PM »
All,

Earlier this week Bully-Board was compromised using an inactive administrator's account. Unfortunately, logs indicate the threat actor used Simple Machine Forum's backup utility to ex-filtrate a backup of the database. This backup would have contained hashed passwords, Email addresses, posts, private messages, IP addresses, and anything else you may have shared with the forum. If you re-used your password anywhere, I'd highly advise you to change them immediately.

After discovering the compromise, I took the forum offline for a few days to dig through files and the database to check for any further indications of compromise. While things looked clean, in abundance of caution I've spent a few hours rebuilding the site from the latest clean version of Simple Machines Forum. Past administrators who have not logged in for a few years have had their permissions revoked.

I've also scrambled password hashes - meaning you will need to use the password reset if this is your first time visiting since the compromise.

I apologize for the inconvenience this caused.

Thanks,
AJ

News & Updates / Regarding Downtime
« on: May 26, 2016, 12:48:47 AM »
A few days ago our provider noticed some strange outbound traffic coming from our box and shut it down so that I can review. They believe the traffic was part of a outbound denial of service attack.

I'm still analyzing but at first glance I do not see anything that would indicate a compromise. Regardless, I still recommend that you change your password if you used it anywhere else - just to error on the side of caution. I will be forcing a password reset for everyone soon.

You may notice some stuff missing and the site might seem a little slow. In light of a potential compromise, I've decided to wipe the VPS we were running on and start from scratch with updated versions. It will take a few days for me to properly configure everything -- so in the mean time I've set us up on a temporary host. I've also gone back to a clean install of the SMF forum software and applied only a handful of forum mods. Let me know if you run into any issues.

I apologize for the delay in getting things back up. It's hard to juggle getting the site back up and taking care of a 4 month old.  :P

News & Updates / New Bully-Board theme!
« on: December 01, 2013, 02:31:10 AM »
Hey everyone! Welcome to the new Bully-Board theme!

It's been over three years since Bully-Board was saved from the brink of death, and since that time the theme has received minimal changes. However, that changes now! As a present to the entire BB community on my own cake day, I've decided to launch this new theme. The new BB theme is much easier to navigate, uses the entire screen real estate and is much more pleasing to the eye. As with anything, there are bound to be a few bugs that crop up here and there. Let me know if there are any issues or anything in general you want me to change.

Cheers!,
AJ Collins

PS: You can still use the old theme if you'd like, just click here. Be aware though that it is no longer supported and may be discontinued at any time. To return to the new theme, click here.

Bully 2 Discussion / Another Bully 2 mention by Rockstar
« on: February 15, 2012, 06:50:49 PM »
From today's Q&A on Rockstar's Newswire:
Quote
“Are there any hopes of us getting a Bully 2? I loved the original and it’s been, what, 5 years? Please make another one.” - siim2200
“Hey, and Bully 2? It’s Real? Please make Bully 2! The world needs a Bully 2” - Julio Cësar (via Facebook)

We absolutely love that over 5 years later, we’re still seeing so much enthusiasm for Bully - all we can say is to see the answer from Monday's Asked & Answered about L.A. Noire! We really love Bully ourselves and may also make a sequel at some point.

Bully Modding Archives / Downloads Section
« on: October 15, 2011, 02:49:23 PM »
By popular demand, we've added a downloads section to the forums which can be access by hitting the Downloads link in the navbar. At the moment it doesn't look very pretty but I plan on retooling some of the interface to better fit the forum's theme as soon as possible. If there's any sections you'd like added, just let me know. Uploads are currently limited to 64MB each. This is a limit imposed by the server as to not bog down the site. If you need to upload a bigger file, please contact me with a link to the download and I'll add it manually. Also, please keep things as legal as possible. No stealing from other authors and especially other video game developers.

News & Updates / Bully-Board updated to SMF 2.0!
« on: September 11, 2011, 09:38:12 PM »
Hey everyone!

I've finally stopped being lazy and upgraded Bully-Board to the latest version of Simple Machines Forum, version 2.0. Since this was a big upgrade, I was forced to recreate the Bully-Board theme. This updated theme features some minor usability updates. The good thing about this theme is it's using the same code base as BB's sister GTAStunting which should allow me to update BB faster with edits I do to GTAS. As with anything new, issues are bound to arise. Be sure to either PM me or make a post detailing the problem.

News & Updates / Bully-Board restored
« on: July 18, 2011, 12:11:03 AM »
Hey everyone,

You may be wondering why all activity from the last month is gone. It seems someone gained access to an administrator's account and purged all topics that had not been replied to within the past 30 days. This means that a number of the topics from Bully-Board's past were deleted. No user information appears to have been stolen. Because of this, I have restored Bully-Board to a backup created on June 4th. I have stuff in-place to take weekly backups so normally this wouldn't be much of a problem however it seems that the application hasn't been working since the 4th of June. I'm very sorry about this and am taking steps to insure that backups do not fail in the future. I'm currently looking into the possibility of merging the two databases (the backup and a copy of the forum before I restored to backup) but it may take a couple of days to know for sure if it's feasible or not. If it does happen, any post made now could be lost. I'll keep you updated on any progress. If you wish to obtain any posts you had on the forum before I restored the backup, you can view them HERE. Again, I'm very sorry this has happened and hope you guys stick around.

Cheers,
AJ Collins

Auditory Experiences / Bully Complete Soundtrack
« on: March 27, 2011, 07:49:34 PM »
I've always been sort of disappointed with the soundtrack that Rockstar put out for Bully as I feel that it's missing a lot of good tracks from Bully and their different variations. Someone was able to rip the actual audio files from the original PlayStation 2 version and put them up for download on the internet but it's hard to find it so I've uploaded the tracks onto Grooveshark for your listening pleasure! Check out the RockstarWatch account for more rare Rockstar tracks such as a remix soundtrack for Manhunt which was never massively produced.

Mod Releases / [PC][FIX]Removing the 30 FPS cap
« on: March 27, 2011, 01:25:38 AM »
Jackfuste over at Rage3D has released a way to remove the 30 FPS cap!

Bully Version 1.154 & 1.200 - Bully-Board

Be sure to enable Vsync or use some other way of limiting your FPS as anything higher than 120 FPS will make the game run 2x faster.
