Before he came to Bullworth. Is it revealed? I know he isn't from Bullworth because you would probably have access to his home.
-
It dosent say, but he doesn't have a new england accent, so who knows
-
I've never read or heard of where Jimmy originated from...If any would care to speculate, it sounds like it could be an interesting topic.....
-
I would guess that he would be from close to the academy. He may not be from Bullworth, but probably lives within 10 miles.
-
But wouldn't you then have access to his home, instead of having to win other savehouses?
-
Not if his home was in another town. Rockstar wouldn't want to have to expand the map to cover many towns outside of Bullworth, although it would have been nice.
-
I would think Jimmy would be from the region, possibly the NYC-NJ-Conn. area. It is obvious that he is some sort of street tough, possibly of poor Irish descent. He seems a throwback to some old-time movie characters, aka 'On The Waterfront'......He has no apparent siblings, no apparent Father in residence, and a Mother who seems bent on marrying old coots for money and dumping Jimmy at whatever place she can find just to be rid of him.....Jimmy appears to be not-so-bright, being easily swayed by the urgings of those around him.....None of the missions or errands that he does involve any good problem solving skills....The lack of a difinitive accent makes it a bit difficult to pin down just where he comes from, however.
-
My best bet is he came from a broken home.
-
Well...no shit sherlock.
-
Pinky...and the Brain.
-
Wherever he's from, it's a sure bet that we will never find out....Unless....
In a future Bully sequel, they would put in a backstory on it.
-
Today I just heard Chad say something to another Prep about Nantucket. This only provides more evidence that the game is in New England.
-
I could have sworn I read somewhere that he -was- from a New England and that's where the game takes place. I don't remember where or when I heard this, though.
-
It's definatley in New England, but where Jimmy is from is still a complete mystery.
-
And I said that I read he was from the area, as well. Probably not within a few minute's drive, but that he's from the NE area.
-
That's a broad area. Jimmy and the school could be in New England and they could be hours apart at the same time.
-
Maybe they wanted to leave it up for speculation. You know, to produce threads like these.
-
Those crafty bastards....
-
Sneaky Sums-of-Bitches......
-
New Dorp, Staten Island.
-
Heh?
-
I guess, knowing what we do about Mike's place, I'd have to vote for Massachusetts....
-
...and what exactly is that supposed to mean huh?
-
Hey, you're the one who described the place....!
-
Yeah, but do you mean Jimmy is from Massachusetts or Bullworth is in MA? It seems odd that Jimmy doesn't have the accent....
-
Where in New England don't they have an accent ?
'Cept, maybe upstate NY ?
-
NY isn't part of New England, so... yes, most people in New England have an accent. Especially people around Boston. It's more common there than in other parts.
-
Always thought NY was considered part of..?
Anyway, could be either....Read somewhere that Bullworth's River had access to the sea....
By that I assume they mean Ocean.....
Funny that, the only apparent way out to the sea is via the New Coventry / Blue Skies bridge, which seems way to low to allow any shipping in or out....
-
Well...maybe its just a small river that empties into the ocean. There are tons of small rivers in New England that empty into the ocean. The big ones are The Connecticut, Charles, and Merrimack.
-
I don't know. Honestly? I want to say Jimmy is from a rougher area of NY.
-
It's R*, it isn't NY it's Liberty City. III-era one. He's probably from Portland. :)
-
Portland, Maine ? Nawwww....
As for Ocean access....They do have docks in Blue Skies, and have shipping....So they have to have more than just a little river, has to be something they can navigate with some kinda ships or at least a barge.....
-
I love Portland, Maine! Anyways, from the looks of it, Bullworth seems to be located in Rhode Island. If not, probably New Hampshire. It's always possible that Jimmy could be from NY, or maybe even Fairfield Co. Conn.
-
I think he's not from New England, I mean he refers to Bullsworth as one of the worst schools in the country, It seems like it's one of the biggest schools in New England. Since he's been expelled to many schools, it seems like if he lived in New England Bullsworth would be one of the first schools he went to, but he lived near the new englang area like in the middle states, because his mom and old guy were able to drive him.
-
Ole Dyl brings up a good point. While I doubt that with 61 students (+ 4 Prefects) that Bullworth is the 'Biggest School in New England', it does seem sensible that Jimmy would have to be within, say a 6-hour (or 300 Mile) radius of Bullworth in order to be driven there by the new 'old stepfather' and his mother.
Perhaps, South Jersey ? No accent there, is there ?

Portland is the industrial, Mafia-controlled island in Liberty City in GTA III. It's the poorest neighborhood there. I didn't mean the Portland in Maine, or wherever else.
-
Excusa me....I thought the point was to pinpoint a real location rather than an imaginary one.
If imaginary, then Portland / Liberty City would seem to be a good guess.

Honestly? Jersey is fucking weird. Not everyone has that obnoxious accent. Some do, some don't. I don't.
Same goes for New York. Some have it, some don't. Some have it slightly, even.
I want to say he's from Staten Island, tho'. I saw a Hopkins Ave up there yesterday. :P
-
There's a Hopkins street in the city of Leominster, thats about 15 minutes away. My sister saw that a few years ago and she was like "Hey look, Hopkins street!" :)
-
Well, I brought up the street name dealie first, so I win. :P
-
Then Again......
There's a Hopkins School near New Haven, Conn.......

And...Hopkins Academy at Hadley, Massachusetts......

How could I forget! There's a town nearby called "Hopkinton". All you need is an s in there though.
-
I figured it out, he's from Bullsworth because there's no way in or out!
-
I was gonna say that!!! But if you notice in the cut scene before "Welcome to Bullworth" you will see that they are driving in from the West side of Bullworth so I think either the came West and the Carnival wasn't there yet. But the could have also came from the north and went right through Bullworth Vale and taken that road to the academy which doesnt make much sense because there isn't an entrance to Bullworth on the west and if they came from the north why wouldn't they just cut right through Bullworth town. So if he came from another state or city he probably came from either the north or the west.
-
Why would the carnival block the only entrance to town that's the worst placement ever, I guess it would get more people to come to the carnival if someone trys to leave town and find a carnival in the way.
-
But I don't get why they would have a main road lead straight to the carnival.
-
I guess they think that the carnival is that important.
-
It's the main moneymaker for the town.
-
BUT....That main road was the road where the first cutscene took place....The car with Jimmy, driving East past the 'Welcome To Bullworth' sign that is strangly absent the rest of the game....
If that was how he arrived, that must have been the direction from whence he came....from the West (of Bullworth Vale) and that means that WAS the main road INTO the towns from elsewhere....
