This is one thing that really pisses me off. Game controversy. There's quite a big list of games other than Bully that have been banned or at least attempted on being banned. We all hate this. I have quite a big list myself. If there's any game you support and that has been through controversy, put it here. The game can be available or banned.
I'm gonna start us off with: Red Dead Redemption. This game had its own share of heat.
-
Oh, the Manhunt games, definitely....Especially MH 2.
Read through some of their posts in the Other Games section.
-
MH had some heat for sure.
One that's RENOWNED for being picked on is the entire GTA series.
-
Here's a list of games or series that I like that's had controversy.
GTA
Bully
Manhunt
Doom
Mortal Kombat
Silent Hill
Resident Evil
Rule of Rose
For just a few, also here's a list of games banned in each country around the world.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games)

A big one was 6 Days In Fallujah. That never hit the shelves yet. What a steal that was from the gaming community.
(I'm wondering what kind of a battle LA Noire might have to face.)
-
I'm actually surprised on how Medal of Honor made it out with out being changed. With LA Noire it shouldn't be that bad. But I can about guarantee JT will bring something up about it.
-
JT was willing to bring up something about HALO, so I'm pretty sure he's gonna challenge LA Noire. And with Medal of Honor, I too am surprised that it was able to make it through the JT crew. Medal of Honor has very similar concepts to 6 Days In Fallujah. I expected MOH to suffer the same fate.
-
I forgot all about Halo. One kid shot and killed his mom and almost his dad because they took Halo 3 away from him.
-
Well it isn't games that made him do that. They need to look more towards crazy.
I'm not sure but I think the Hitman series might have recieved some trouble from the JT crew.
-
It wouldn't surprise me.
-
Me neither. A game like that usually gets some sort of heat. I've been waiting quite some time now for another Hitman game. I actually typed up a bunch of ideas for that game. If ya ever want to see it I can send 'em to you.
-

He probably had other issues with them....Takes one fucked-up kid to shoot his parents, video game or not.
-
Hitman 5 was announced around 2007, but not much has been said about it. In 09 the developers said it was still being made.

The bad thing about it was his dad was a preacher.
-
So his dad was another JT? Its starting to sound like his own family MADE him crazy.
-
^ That may have done it ! I would have Hated to be the kid of a preacher...There's added pressure for you....
-
His father crammed this religion down the kid's throat and wouldn't let him play games 'cause it was against god.
-
Yea that could defiantly be one of the reasons. His dad took it away because he didn't want that kind of violence in the house. Here's a link, said his dad is a minister instead but still the same pressure on him I guess. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/12/boy_killed_mom_and_shot_dad_ov.html (http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/12/boy_killed_mom_and_shot_dad_ov.html)

I read your MGS one, I forgot all about having it. You can send me the Hitman one if you like. I ain't a big fan of the series. I've played them though, it always nice seeing others ideas on games.
-
I'll eventually send you a copy of it.

There was a few things in that picture that were wrong.
1.) The kid was willing to kill his parents because of having a game taken away.
2.) The father was using a lockbox in his closet to hide his gun. Not such a good place.
3.) The kid seems to have planned what he did. After he shot his parents he tried to place the gun in his father's hand making it look like a mom/dad argument gone wrong. This wasn't done by games. It was planned. Even worse, it was planned to get back a game.
-
Your right on everything you said. But Halo 3 the effect it could have and other games were brought up. It was all dismissed by the judge though.
-
I would hope. I don't think it was Halo that made the kid plan a murder.
-
Shit, No....Like I say, he definitely had other issues.
-
I've had my games taken away from me as a kid. I didn't kill my family.
-
I had mine taken away to, none of my family are dead.
-
I had my dignity taken away, and still I didn't kill 'em....
-
I've had everything in my room taken away a long with my door. Only a bed to sleep on, I did feel like fighting my dad though. I was 11 I would of gotten my ass kicked lol.
-
Every dog has his day though....Even if it is a long time in coming.
-
I rarely had issues like that. The person I really had to watch was my brother. He stole everything of mine.
-
I never had to worry much about my dad. There for awhile I just didn't like it, I didn't have a reason though.
-
I never had a father. I just live with my mother.
-
He's my step dad actually, but he's been there for me since the start. My real dad walked out on my mom when he got her pregnant. I know his name, and have seen what he looks like through pictures. I also know where he lives, and I plan on seeing him one day. I've just always wondered if it'd be a good idea or not.
-
My father left me when I was 6.
-
Mine is Dead. Karma is a real bitch sometimes.
-
If you don't mind me asking Chuck were you two close?
-
Not at all. It was like having an Anti-father.
-
Mine just learned how karma can bite you in the ass. He owes a couple thousand in child support. My father intended to stop paying when I was 18. Now he just recieved a notice telling him he's gonna have to pay that chunk of change off for the rest of his life.
-
That makes me think of one of my friends. His dad would treat him like shit, he'd beat him growing up. He love his other son though, treated him like a prince.
-
Someone was playing favorites.
-
He did all the time, and his mom wouldn't do shit about it either. She was afraid he'd hit her to, what a sorry bunch of parents they were.
-
The mom is just as much to be blamed. She sits on the sidelines and watches the show while the father beats the kid. They're both wrong.
-
No favorites on my end. My older brother was gone by the time I was 9, I left right when I turned 17, when I graduated HS I moved away. My little brother stuck it out though, cause they divorced when he was 13, so he went with my mom.
As you can tell, we were pretty spread out....
-
We left my brother. He attracted a lot of negative attention and trouble. We let him do his own thing.
-
My parents don't act like they've got a favorite. I've always wondered though.
-
I became the favorite. Once we left my brother and lost comtact with him I was the only left. Who else is there to choose from?
Scarface: The World Is Yours. That game certainly had some heat.
-
It did and I can see why, but it also didn't do that well. It just wasn't a well thought out game.
-
It was fun for only so long. I hated how your money account stopped at $999,999. That kinda ruined the game.
-
What I hated most was just taking over store fronts. They really felt like it was nothing but side missions the whole time.
-
I tried that game not too long after it came out, didn't like it.
-
The fun lasted just so long. It could've been better.
Those games with 50 Cent were more of a joke than they were cool. It was nothing but a bunch of rappers using a game to make themselves look cool and tough.
-
That's funny that you mentioned 50 Cent. Did you know Rockstar wanted him to do the voice for CJ in San Andreas? 50 declined it though, saying if he was going to be in a game it would feature him. Thus leading to the two 50 Cent games coming out.
-
That's where he fucked up. He could've taken part in one of the biggest series today, but he declined it. Now he got what he wanted. He's in 2 games. I don't see them moving too far any time soon. He declined a once in a lifetime opportunity. I bet ya R* won't offer him anything else.
-
Of course they want, and I hope they never will again. I actually think Young Maylay was the perfect choice though.
-
I can't believe anyone was willing to make a game for him.
-
The first game was made by a shitty developer. The second was by an ok one, it's just something they thought they could cash in on.
-
50 Cent is much less popular than he thinks. Just 'cause he's in a game doesn't mean people will flock to it.
-
It a wonder Lil Wayne ain't had his own game yet.
-
He did. Did you ever play the Def Jam fighting games? He was one of the characters in "Def Jam: Fight for N.Y."
-
You sure he was in that one? I got the game, just don't remember if he was. Any way if he was all the good rappers made him invisible to me.
-
I'm pretty sure he was....I could be wrong. I haven't played that in a few years, but I am quite sure.
