% II. Introduction %

There are probably a few errors among the directions because we had to
rearrange the numbering on this guide much more then what we would have
liked. We connected all the directions to make it faster on picking up all of
the Rubber Bands but you can pick up most of them in any order you want. This
guide is made more for those that have just started the game but for those
that are on say Chapter 5 should still be able to use the descriptions in
this guide to figure find the ones they need. We couldn't decide who to help
those that are just starting the game or those that are just missing a few so
like usual when we can't decide we do both and you the reader benefits.

() IIIb. Rubber Band Directions ()
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()

(Note: The following is for those that can't find the Rubber Bands using the
short descriptions above and need more details.)

Bullworth Academy
=================

(Note: Once you are able to use a bike or Skateboard you may want to use them
to get around faster on the streets of the city.)

Rubber Band #01
---------------

Now head for the Girl's Dorm and go to the left (South) side of the Dorm. You
should find a staircase on this side of the building and the 1st Rubber Band
at the back of this staircase.

Rubber Band #02
---------------

Enter the Girl's Dorm and go up to the Second floor with the staircase to
your right. You will see the 2nd Rubber Band to your right (South) as you get
to the top of this staircase.

Rubber Band #03
---------------

Go down the hallway on the second floor of the Girl's Dorm and enter the
bathroom you see to your right. You will see the 3rd Rubber Band near the
stalls to your left (South) as you enter this bathroom.

Rubber Band #04
---------------

Now head for the Boy's Dorm now and go to the right (South) side of the
building. You will find the 4th Rubber Band on this side of the building
(near the Southwest corner).

Rubber Band #05
---------------

Enter the Boy's Dorm now and as you enter look to your left (North) down the
hallway to see the 5th Rubber Band at the end of this hallway near the couch.

Rubber Band #06
---------------

Now head for the North side of the Main School building (the largest building
on the campus) and as you reach the top of the stairs on this side of the
building go to your right and you will see on the grass near the fence up
ahead on your left (South) the 6th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #07
---------------

Now head for the staircase on the West side of this Main School building.
Face away (West) from the staircase and go towards the parking lot you see in
front of you. Just before you reach the Parking lot look to your left and you
should see the 7th Rubber Band to the left of the red garage door.

Rubber Band #08
---------------

(Note: I don't think you can get this one when you first start the game but
you can get this one once you have seen the Principal to start Chapter 1.)

Go over to the Bus you see at the West side of this Parking Lot and enter the
bus. As you enter the bus you will see the 8th Rubber Band to your left
(South) at the back of the Bus.

Rubber Band #09
---------------

Now head for the South side of the Main School Building and go up the stairs
to the Bull Fountain you see to the South in the distance. Jump into the
fountain and search the water at the Southeast side of this fountain to find
the 9th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #10
---------------

Now follow the path to the right (West) side of this fountain and you should
see up ahead a entryway into the "Auto Shop" area. You will see a building up
ahead as you follow this path and when you reach it go to the South side of
this building. You will find an open garage door along this side of the
building that you need to enter and as you enter this garage look to your
right to see the 10th Rubber Band on the work bench here.

Rubber Band #11
---------------

Now go back to the fountain and follow the path on the left (East) side of
this fountain. As you reach the "Harrington House" building up ahead you
should see an archway to your left (North). Enter that archway and you should
see at the far right (Northeast) corner of this area a broken portion of
wall. Climb over that broken portion of wall and you should see the 11th
Rubber Band on the path in front of you.

Rubber Band #12
---------------

Make your way back to the Bull Fountain and now follow the path to the left
(South). As you go through the large archway up ahead you should see two
buildings here one for the "Gym" to your right (West) and one for the "Pool"
to your left (East). Go over to the "Gym" door and just to the right (West)
of it you should see the 12th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #13
---------------

Now Climb up the ladder just to the left (East) of the "Pool" door and when
you reach the top of this ladder drop down to the ground on the left (East)
side of this small rooftop. After you are on the ground go to your left and
you should see the 13th Rubber Band to your right (East) near the first set
of weeds along the right side of this path.

Rubber Band #14
---------------

Now climb back over the fence you just came over to enter either the "Gym" or
the "Pool" door it doesn't really matter and once you enter find the stairs
that lead down to the changing rooms. As you reach the bottom of the stairs
you will see two doors one for the Girl's Changeroom and one for the Boy's
Changeroom. Enter the Girl's Change room and as you enter look to your left
to see on the floor of the shower to your right the 14th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #15
---------------

Now leave the "Gym"/"Pool" buildings and follow the path between these two
buildings to the South towards the football field. As you reach the football
field up ahead go to the center of the football field and look to your right
(West) to see a building just pass the goal post up ahead. Go over to that
building and just to the left of the doors to that building you will find the
15th Rubber Band on the ground near a football (not sure if the football will
be there for everyone but it was there when I got this Rubber Band).

Rubber Band #16
---------------

Now head to the East side of the Main School building (the Large building
that is just North of the Bull Fountain) and follow the path to the East to
get to the Library. Enter the Library and go up to the second floor of the
Library. Go to your right (North) along the walkway when you reach the top of
the stairs and go around the corner of the walkway to your left (West). Look
to your right as you go along this walkway and you will see the 16th Rubber
Band on the floor between the second set of bookshelves here.

Rubber Band #17
---------------

Now head for the North side of the Main School Building and enter the
building. Go into the left doorway under the large staircase to enter the
"Cafeteria". Enter the kitchen of this Cafeteria and enter the back room at
the right (West) side of this kitchen. As you enter this back room you will
see the 17th Rubber Band on the floor to your left near a shelf.

Rubber Band #18
---------------

Now head up to the Second floor of this building and enter the Principal's
Office. As you enter you should see the 18th Rubber Band to your left on the
floor (If you haven't started chapter one yet then you will have a Scene
first before you get this one).

Rubber Band #19
---------------

Make your way through the missions until you get to the "Help Gary" Mission.
During this mission you will enter the basement of the school and after you
make it through the first few rooms of the basement you will come to a room
with a live wire. As you enter this room crawl through the gap in the fence
to your left and after you have crawled through you should see the 19th
Rubber Band to your right (South) near a shelf.

Rubber Band #20
---------------

Continue through the "Help Gary" Mission until you reach the room that Gary
jumps down into a small pit/arena area. Instead of dropping down to where
Gary is go along the walkway that goes around the edge of this pit/arena to
find a short tunnel you can go down at the left (Northwest) side of this
pit/arena. Go around the corner to your right at the end of this tunnel and
you will find the 20th Rubber Band on the floor near a fence here as you go
around the corner.

Bullworth Town/Old Bullworth Vale
=================================

Rubber Band #21
---------------

As you Start Chapter 2 you should now be able to leave the Academy. Leave the
Academy through the big Main gates and as you exit out of these gates go
straight (North) across the street. Once you reach the other side of the
street you should see a small dirt path to your left (Northwest) and at the
start of this dirt path on the ground you should see the 21st Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #22
---------------

Follow this dirt path as it goes across a bridge and to a street up ahead. Go
to your left (North) when you get to the street and go through the
intersection you see up ahead. To your left (West) you should see a "Shiny"
Bike shop. Look on the ground along the right (North) side of this shop and
you will find the 22nd Rubber Band here.

Rubber Band #23
---------------

Go back out onto the street you were on and go to the left (North) along this
street. Go to your right (East) at the intersection up ahead and you should
see a theater at the end of this street. Go behind that theater building and
you will find a large staircase you can use to go up to the back door of the
theater. As you get to the top of the staircase cross over the wooden bridge
you see up ahead and as you get to the other side of this small bridge climb
up the ladder you see to your left. As you reach the top of this ladder look
to your left (South) and you should see a Rubber Band on the theaters roof.
You may ask how do you get over there and the answer is quite simple all you
need to do is a running jump towards that rooftop (not so simple is actually
doing it sometimes). If done correctly you will end up on that rooftop to get
the 23rd Rubber Band and well if done wrong I think you know where you will
end up (it's a long way down).

Rubber Band #24
---------------

Now make your way back down the same way you got onto this theater and make
your way to the street in front of this theater. Head North along this street
and just before you reach the curve in the road up ahead you should see a
building to your right with a red awning and see the 24th Rubber Band near
the sign in front of this building.

Rubber Band #25
---------------

Look to the West/Northwest from here and you should see a large statue in the
distance. Go over to that right (North) side of that statue and you should
find the 25th Rubber Band on the ground near that statue.

Rubber Band #26
---------------

Look to the North from here and you should see a large staircase across the
street from you. Go up that large staircase and when you reach the top of
this staircase go up the smaller staircase to your left (West). You should
see the 26th Rubber Band on the grass to your left.

Rubber Band #27
---------------

Now go up the smaller Eastern staircase and follow the walkway at the top of
these stairs around the side of this large building. You will eventually come
to the side door of this building and once you do climb up the ladder you see
just to the left of the door. When you get to the top of that ladder climb up
the next ladder you see on the higher rooftop to your right (West). When you
reach the top of that ladder you will see the 27th Rubber Band in front of
you.

Rubber Band #28
---------------

Now make your way back down and go to the street on the South side of the
large Statue. Go West along this street and you should see up ahead a gas
station to your left (South/Southwest). Go to the back (Southwest) corner of
the gas station building and you will find a ladder you can climb here. Climb
up it and when you reach the top of the ladder you will see the 28th Rubber
Band on this rooftop to your left.

Rubber Band #29
---------------

Climb back down and go back to the street to the North of the Gas Station
(the street you were on a moment ago). Continue West along this street to go
across a rather long bridge and as you get to the other side of this bridge
you should see a dirt road to your left (South). Go down this dirt road and
you will see it will fork into two directions. Continue to follow the dirt
road that goes straight (South). Follow this dirt road as it curves to the
left towards the beach and just as you reach the beach you should see the
29th Rubber Band to your left near the large rocks here.

Rubber Band #30
---------------

Go back to the fork you were at a moment ago and this time follow the dirt
road leading to the East. Follow this dirt road as it curves to the left
(North) and you will eventually come to another fork. Go down the dirt road
to the left (Northwest) and follow this dirt road as it curves around to the
left (South). As it is curving look to your left and you should see a broken
gate. Go through that broken gate and go to the monument you see up ahead. As
you reach the monument follow the walkway you see to your right (South)
towards the door in the distance and before you reach that door look to your
right to see a broken portion of wall. climb over that broken portion of wall
and make your way around to the front door of this crypt you are behind. As
you reach the front door of this building you will see the 30th Rubber Band
to the left of the front door on the ground.

Rubber Band #31
---------------

Now make your way back out of this graveyard and backtrack along the dirt
road until you reach the street you were on earlier. Once you get back to the
street you were on continue to go West along this street and just before you
reach the second house on your left (South) you should see a tree to your
left with the 31st Rubber Band under that tree.

Rubber Band #32
---------------

Continue West along this street and turn left at the first street you come to
on your left. As you start going down this street you should see to your
right (West) a somewhat hidden staircase leading up to "Old Bullworth Vale
Gardens". Go up those stairs and go to the walkway to your right at the top
of the stairs. Look to your left (South) and you should see near the railing
here the 32nd Rubber Band on the ground near a ramp.

Rubber Band #33
---------------

Now go back down the stairs and continue to the right (South) along the
street you were on. Go down the hill in front of you and you will eventually
see to your right a large "Burgers" fast food Menu to your right. Stand on
the grass just to the West of this large menu and walk directly West. Just
before you reach the wall up ahead you should see the 33rd Rubber Band near
the wall.

Rubber Band #34
---------------

Now go to the East side of that large Menu facing away from the menu and then
look to the left (Northeast). You should see just across the street a walkway
going into a shopping area. Go to that walkway and walk along this walkway to
the East. As you go down the staircase up ahead you should see an "Aquaberry"
Store in front of you. Look at the flower bed just to the left of the
"Aquaberry" Store and you should see the 34th Rubber Band near the weeds
here.

Rubber Band #35
---------------

Now Enter the "Aquaberry" and enter the changing/purchasing area at the back
of the store. As you enter this room look to your right and you should see
the 35th Rubber Band at the corner of this room.

Rubber Band #36
---------------

Leave the "Aquaberry" Store and go down the staircase to your left (South).
Go to your left (East) on this street and just before this street curves to
the right up ahead you should see to your left (North) a large boxing
gym/club. Go to the Southeast corner of this boxing building and you will
find the 36th Rubber Band on the ground near the trash can you find here.

Rubber Band #37
---------------

Make your way to the beach area to the East of this building and follow the
beach to the South under a bridge. Continue to go along the sand as it curves
to the right (West) until you reach a rather large pier. Make your way down
to the (South) end of this pier and when you reach the end of it you should
see the 37th Rubber Band to your right near the railing/border of this pier.

Rubber Band #38
---------------

Now look at your map and you should see to the South of this pier a rather
large island. You need to swim to the large beach area you see at the
Southeastern side of the island. Once you reach that beach area make your way
up the hill to the left (West) and make your way across the various wooden
planks you see here. Once you get across the last plank you will see the 38th
Rubber Band near the cliff edge to your left (North).

Rubber Band #39
---------------

Now look at the map again and you should see a beach area East of this island
(just west of the Academy). Swim over to that beach area and you will find
the 39th Rubber Band on the sand in front of the closed mine shaft.

Rubber Band #40
---------------

Look at your map one more time and look at the Southwest corner of the map to
see the Go-Kart track and just to the right (East) of it is a small strip of
beach. Swim to that small strip of beach and when you get to it you should
see a cave to your right. Enter this cave and as you come out the other side
of this cave you will see a fallen tree in front of you. Go across this
fallen tree and you will find the 40th Rubber Band on the small ledge at the
other side of this fallen tree.

Rubber Band #41
---------------

Now swim back to the large pier you were at and go to the street it is near
(the street you crossed earlier to get to the pier). Go West/NorthWest along
this street and it will eventually enter a tunnel. Follow this tunnel and it
will lead you to the carnival. Enter the Carnival and  locate the door for
the "Freak Show" (it is North of the Ferris Wheel Ticket Booth/Counter). Walk
along the hallway of this "Freak Show" and you will eventually find the 41st
Rubber Band on the floor in front of "The Crazy Painted Man" display case.

Rubber Band #42
---------------

Now exit the carnival and make your way back through the tunnel. Turn left
(North) at the first street you can to your left and just before you reach
the top of the small hill this street goes up you should see an alley to your
right. Go down this alley and you will see farther down this alley the 42nd
Rubber Band to your right (South) near the doorway with the red/white striped
awning above it.

Rubber Band #43
---------------

Go back to the street you were on and go up the large staircase you see in
front of you just across the street from this alley. As you reach the top of
these stairs look to your left (South) and you should see the 43rd Rubber
Band on the ground near some weeds in the distance.

Rubber Band #44
---------------

Face away from the wall the weeds are near and you should see in front of you
a dirt road that goes up a hill curving to the left (South). Follow that dirt
road up the hill and before it curves to the right (West) you should see a
little look out area to your left (East). Go to the railing of this look out
area at the far right (South) side of it and you should find the 44th Rubber
Band on the ground near that railing.

Rubber Band #45
---------------

Now go back to the dirt road and continue to follow it to the West until it
comes to a street. Go to your right (North) along this street and you should
see to your right the driveway of house "32" (you can see the number of the
house on the pillar on the right side of the driveway to make sure you are at
the right house). Walk up this driveway and through the large archway you see
at the top of the driveway. As you reach the other side of this archway you
will see a ramp in front of you and the 45th Rubber Band on the ground just
in front of the Ramp.

Rubber Band #46
---------------

Go back out onto the street you were on and continue going to your right
(North) on it. Go to your left (Northwest) at the end of this street and go
down this street until you see house "26" on the left (West) side of the
street. Walk along the wall to the right of the front gates to this house and
you will find a broken portion of wall/fence near the end of this wall. Climb
up over this broken portion of wall and then crouch/walk through the small
gap to your left or just climb over the fence in front of you. Go over to the
front stairs of this house and look just to the right of those stairs to see
a low fence you can climb over. After you get over that fence look to your
right and you will see the 46th Rubber Band near the tree here.

Rubber Band #47
---------------

Make your way back out to the street in front of this house and look to the
North. You should see just across the street a lone red mailbox and just past

basketball courts and go to the Northwestern most corner of these basketball
courts to find the 47th Rubber Band on the ground near the wall.

the driveway of house "23". Go towards the tree at the right side of thise
house and you will find the 48th Rubber Band just before you reach that tree.

Rubber Band #49
---------------

Go out to the street in front of this house and go to your left
(East/Northeast) along this street. When this street ends you will see a
broken portion of fence/wall in front of you. Climb over that wall or walk up
that broken portion of fence to enter the back of this large building
(Retirement Home). Look to your left (Northeast) and you should see a dried
up pond here with a bridge. Go into that dried up pond and you will find the
49th Rubber Band under that bridge.

Rubber Band #50
---------------

Now climb back over that broken portion of wall you climbed in from and go
onto the street it is near. Go to the left (South) along this street and up
ahead where the street curves to the left (East) you should see the entrance
to the "Old Bullworth Vale Gardens". Enter through that entrance and you
should see a Gazebo to your left. Go over to that Gazebo and you will find
the 50th Rubber Band at the Southeast side of this Gazebo.

Rubber Band #51

During the mission "The Eggs" you will enter the gates of "Spencer Estates"
(Tad's) House "27'. When you enter go down the staircase to your left instead
of going over to the boys and you should see in front of you a Gazebo at the
bottom of the staircase with the 51st Rubber Band at the center of this
Gazebo.

behind.

New Coventry
============

Rubber Band #53
---------------

Once you reach Chapter 3 head for the underpass that it showed you is now
clear to head into the "New Coventry" (the underpass near the motel at the
East side of Bullworth Town). After you go under this underpass you should
see up ahead a "Yum Yum Market". Go towards the front door of that market and
you will see the 53rd Rubber Band on the ground just to the right of the
market's door.

Rubber Band #54
---------------

Look to the North and you should see an alley just to the left (West) of the
building in front of you across the street. Go into that alley and go around
the back corner of the building to your right. As you go around the corner
you should see the 54th Rubber Band on the ground here.

Rubber Band #55
---------------

Go out to the street to the East and go along this street to the left
(North). Follow this street as it curves around to the right (East) and then
continue to follow this street as it curves around up ahead to the right
(South). After the curve in the street look to your left (East) and you
should see the 55th Rubber Band on the ground near the sidewalk between the
two buildings here.

Rubber Band #56
---------------

Continue along the street you were on to the South until it ends up ahead and
then go to your left (East) onto this street. Go to your right (South) at the
first/only street you can and then make a left up ahead at the street to your
left (East). Just to make sure you turned down the correct street you should
see a large red billboard up ahead in the distance and a red garage door
along the left side of the street up ahead. Go to the middle of the
intersection in front of that red garage and look to the right (Southeast) to
see a gap/opening between two shipping containers here. Enter that
opening/gap and you will see a trailer here with the 56th Rubber Band near
the left (North) side of this trailer.

Rubber Band #57
---------------

Now go back to the intersection you were at and continue (East) along this
street towards that red billboard I mentioned about earlier. Follow this
street/road as it curves to the left (North) in front of the red billboard
and continue to follow this street as it curves to the left (West) up ahead.
After it curves go to the right (North) on the street you come to and follow
this street as it curves to the left (West). After the curve look along the
right side of the street and you should see a road closed (Detour) sign in
front of a doorway (this would be the place you will go during "The
Tenements" mission). Enter that doorway and you will see the 57th Rubber Band
in front of you.

Rubber Band #58
---------------

Go back out to the street you were on and continue to your right (West) along
it. Follow this street as it curves to the left (South) and then go into the
alley you see to your right (West). Follow this path/road in front of you and
you will eventually some train cars up ahead along this path. Before you get
to those train cars search along the fence to the Southeast of the trees you
see to your left (the trees East of the train cars) and you should find on
the ground near some of the trees the 58th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #59
---------------

Now make your way to the lone snow covered railroad track just South of the
train cars and follow this lone track to the South across the bridge you can
see from here. Continue to follow this track until it eventually ends at a
building and when you get near that building you will see the 59th Rubber
Band on the center tracks in front of this building.

Rubber Band #60
---------------

Now head back to the Academy and enter the smaller gate (car entrance just
west of the main gates of the Academy. As you make your way towards the
parking lot up ahead you should see an opening in the fence/wall to your
right (West) enter that opening in the wall/fence and follow this path as it
goes to the South. Follow this path until you go pass the first tree you see
along the right side of this path. After you go pass that tree along this
path you should see up ahead a large blocked off mine entrance. Destroy those
boards blocking the entrance by hitting them or whatever works for you and
then enter the mine. Make your way along the Mine Cart tracks here and you
will eventually come across the 60th Rubber Band near the end of these
tracks.

Rubber Band #61
---------------

Now go back out the way you came in and continue to follow the path you were
on to the right until you have gone pass 3 trees on the left side of this
path. After you go pass the third tree you should see a snowy hill you can go
up to your left between the rocks here. As you reach the top of this snowy
hill you should see a tree that has fallen over to your right and as you walk
out onto that tree you will see the 61st Rubber Band on this tree about
halfway across it.

Rubber Band #62
---------------

After you have completed the "Nerd Challenge" mission you will unlock the
Nerd Hideout as a Safe House. Once you have unlocked it enter the room at the
East side of this Hideout to enter the bedroom and as you enter you will see
the 62nd Rubber Band on the floor here near the shelf.

Rubber Band #63
---------------

During the "Stronghold Assualt" mission you will have be able to get through
the security door on the right (South) side of the library. Follow the path
in front of you and make your way pass the nerds and the first two barricades
blocking the path (the path leading to the observatory). After you climbed
over the second one you should see up ahead a large open area at the bottom
of this small hill with the 63rd Rubber Band near a large tree here.

Rubber Band #64

Continue (South) along the path towards the Observatory and as you go down
the dirt road you find here you should see to your left on the ground near
the blocked mine entrance is the 64th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #65
---------------

During the "Galloway Away" mission you will head towards the "Happy Volts
Asylum" when you reach the front gates you will see the 65th Rubber Band on
the other side of the front gates. You can sneak over and get this Rubber
Band before you enter the Asylum. If you already passed that mission it is ok
just enter the asylum the way you did before and go to the front gates to get
this Rubber Band.

Blue Skies Industrial Park
==========================

Rubber Band #66
---------------

As Chapter 5 starts you will see the final area has opened up on the map.
Head for the street in front of the Academy and go to the right (East) onto
it. Follow it as it curves to the left (North) and just before you reach the
bridge up ahead you will see a dirt road to your right. Go down this dirt
road to the water and start swimming Southeast towards the docks of the new
area. As you are going in this direction you should see a little fishing/tug
boat that is half submerged in the water. Swim over to that boat and get on
it to find the 66th Rubber Band at the back (not submerged) part of this
boat.

Rubber Band #67
---------------

Swim to the Southeast towards the partially submerged platform you can see
from this boat and climb up onto the dock from it. Drop down to the walkway
you see through the gap between the buildings to the Southeast and head
towards the wall you see to the East. Just before you reach that wall you
should see a ramp to your right (South). Make your way up this ramp and
follow the path at the top of the ramp to find the 67th Rubber Band near the
fence at the end of this path.

Rubber Band #68
---------------

Go over to the button you see on the (South) side of the building you are
near to open up the door near it. Go out of that door and go to the
south/southeast along this walkway you come out onto. You should see up ahead
to your left an archway/tunnel to your left you can go through. Go through
that archway/tunnel and you will end up out on a street. Go straight along
this street and follow it as it curves to the right (South). Follow this
street until it ends up ahead and then go to your left (East). After you turn
to the East you should see to your right (South) an opening into a shipping
yard. Enter this opening and you should see in front of you a large crane
with a truck parked under it. Go behind that truck and you will find the 68th
Rubber Band near the back bumper of the truck.

Rubber Band #69
---------------

Continue East along the street you were on and follow this street as it
curves to the left (Northwest). Just before you reach the intersection up
ahead you should see to your right a ramp. Go up this ramp and then go up the
next ramp in front of you at the top of that ramp. Once you reach the top of
this second ramp use the button you see to your left to open up the door here
and enter this door. As you enter this door you will see to your left the
69th Rubber Band.

Rubber Band #70
---------------

Now go back out and back down the ramps to your right (Northwest). When you
reach the bottom of the ramps go to the center of the intersection you are
near. Go down the street to the West and as you go down that street you
should see a dumpster at the left side of this street. Climb up onto the
dumpster and climb over the fence. Go towards the Southwest and you should
see the 70th Rubber Band on the ground here.

Rubber Band #71
---------------

Now go climb back over the fence you came over and look just across the
street from this dumpster you are on to see the 71st Rubber Band on the
ground here.

Rubber Band #72
---------------

Look to the left (West) and you should see a train blocking the street here.
Go through the open train car you see and onto the street just on the other
side of it. Go to your right (North) along this street and to your left you
should see a broken portion of fence near the North end of the building here.
Climb over the wall and you will see the 72nd Rubber Band on the ground in
front of the garage doors here.

Rubber Band #73
---------------

Go back out onto the street you were on and continue North until this street
ends (a few steps away). Once it ends go to your right across the railroad
tracks and onto a dirt road. Follow this dirt road straight and just before
you reach the end of this dirt road you should see the 73rd Rubber Band to
your left near the bus stop.

Rubber Band #74
---------------

Look across the street to the right (East) and you should see the 74th Rubber
Band in front of the couch at the (North) side of the house across the
street.

Rubber Band #75
---------------

Go out onto the street in front of this house and go to your right (North)
onto it. Go onto the dirt road you see coming up on your left and follow this
dirt road until you reach the Tattoo Trailer/Parlor on your right. You should
see on the ground in front of the Tattoo Trailer the 75th Rubber Band.

You have now unlocked the Rubber Band Ball as a weapon in your Inventory.

Anti-Bully / Jack gets his way.

Jacko Gets His Way

Bully's judgement day coming tomorrow
Anti-game activist Jack Thompson claims court victory to get judge to obtain copy of Rockstar's forthcoming game tomorrow afternoon.
By Tor Thorsen, GameSpot
Posted Oct 11, 2006 5:54 pm PT

In September, Take-Two Interactive surprised many when it revealed that its forthcoming high-school-based game Bully would be rated T for Teen. After all, the game had been dubbed a "Columbine simulator" by anti-game activist Jack Thompson, in reference to the 1999 school massacre, and was being published by Take-Two subbrand Rockstar Games, which had historically specialized in M-for-Mature-rated games.

However, just because Bully is getting a T rating by the Entertainment Software Ratings Software Board (ESRB) doesn't mean it's out of the woods yet. Today, Thompson announced that he had won a "historic" victory in a Miami-Dade Circuit Court. According to the attorney, who has a history of aggressive self-promotion, "Judge Ronald Friedman entered an historic order directing Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., to provide the Court with a copy of the violent video game Bully 'before close of business tomorrow,' Thursday, October 12."

Thompson, referring to himself in the third person, went on to describe what Judge Friedman's order entailed. "The Judge further ordered that the game will be played in his presence, in chambers, with Miami attorney Jack Thompson present, if he wants to be there (he will be there) so der (sic) that Judge Friedman can ascertain whether the game should be sold to minors," said Thompson. "The Judge indicated that he will take however long it takes to see the game played in its entirety."

Due to the hour, attempts to confirm the judge's order directly with the Miami-Dade County Court were unsuccessful as of press time. However, several other news outlets, including Gamepolitics.com and the fan site Destructoid, which blogged the hearing, confirmed Thompson's report of Judge Friedman's ruling. (NOTE: Destructoid's site was intermittently down as of press time.)

Bully is set to hit PlayStation 2s next Tuesday, October 17. An Xbox version of the game was canceled earlier this year.

Canis Canem Edit - Hands On [ Preview ]
TVG goes back to school with Rockstar Vancouver's debut title; does it deserve its rather controversial reputation...
Author: Jon Wilcox | Date Added: 13/09/2006

Ever since its announcement back in Spring 2005, Rockstar Vancouver's recently re-christened Canis Canem Edit (Latin for 'Dog Eat Dog') has been at the centre of controversy. Its previous name of Bully, coupled with scant information about its content aside from a couple of screenshots, acted as a red rag to the right-wing bulls that rear their heads (and outspoken opinions) from time to time. Labelled as a 'Columbine Simulator' by some quarters, Canis went deep, deep, deep undercover; with the result that little was heard of the game for over a year. Following the year-long death rattle sounded by the original Xbox, the publisher also quietly dropped support for Microsoft's debut console earlier in 2006, leaving it an exclusive for PlayStation2.

Recently TVG was invited to attend class (otherwise known as Rockstar London) and see for ourselves what school yard shenanigans we could relive...

They say (whoever 'they' may be) that schooldays are the happiest days of our lives. What tosh. I for one was bullied at school and it turned me into the sadistic and twisted megalomaniac that you see (or more accurately, read) today. But whatever my experiences of more than a decade ago, they're nothing compared to the year long hell that Jimmy Hopkins is set to realise at New England boarding school, Bullworth Academy. Attending the most 'challenging' school in the US whilst his mother enjoys a year-long honeymoon with her fifth husband, Jimmy is to experience the sort of atmosphere that you'd see in a 'serious' episode of Grange Hill; distinct cliques, pranks, and the sort of hellish teaching that you'd expect from a deprived inner city school.

Following a harsh introduction to school life, a small punch up with some of the bullies (which acts as a brief combat tutorial), Jimmy find himself making his first friend: Gary. However Gary may not be the friend that he seems to be, especially when he decides that Jimmy is trying to usurp him in his bid to take control of the school.

Jimmy has the option to chat to anybody that he meets in the world of Bullworth, whether that's in a positive light or whether he wants to be more of a prankster and give them a wedgie. The upside of being nice to people is that if he's in trouble with a certain clique, then others (including the brilliantly stereotypical Nerds...speech impediment and all) may just come to the rescue. Respect is earned and lost according to how the subject of Jimmy's attention; fighting against some bullies will reduce their respect towards him, but if he's defending some nerds then he'll be held in higher regard by the school's brainiacs. Bullworth isn't a boys only school either, so Jimmy will also be able to master the fine art of wooing girls - though box of chocolates or flowers from the town store may help win them over and give Jimmy a kiss.

Obviously an important part of school are the lessons, and Bullworth Academy is no different, with several subjects 'taught' throughout the course of the school year including English, Art, Gym, and Chemistry. Created as mini-games with varying difficulty, Rockstar demonstrated the Art mini-game, which took the form of arcade classic Qix. Drawing the lines as per the 1981 Taito title revealed more of an 'actual' piece of art underneath, whilst Sparx and Fuse enemies are replaced with paintbrushes and pencils. Gym class sees Jimmy wrestle with some of his fellow students, allowing players to expand upon the schoolboy's repertoire of attack and defensive moves. Whilst we didn't get to see it, it was explained that Chemistry classes would allow Jimmy to create his own stink bombs and the like to use against his schoolyard foes.

Following Rockstar's Grand theft Auto series, Canis Canem Edit looks to be a fairly open affair. Players won't be subjected to stringent mission structures, allowing Jimmy to roam the streets and school grounds whenever he feels (though being noticed but those in authority will result in punishment). Besides attending classes (or not as the case may be), Jimmy will progress through the school year by completing the story missions that arise. One of the first missions that we got to grips with saw Jimmy save one of the many nerds that dwell in the corridors of Bullworth from a group of bullies. Taking place early into the first chapter of the game, three waves of two bullies rush onto the hapless whelp, leaving Jimmy no choice but to use his fists (and the odd baseball bat) to beat back his adversaries. Passing the objective will mean that Jimmy will win a skateboard, which comes in very handy throughout the course of the school year.

Due to the school setting, guns and the like are nowhere to be seen in Bullworth. Catapults, itching powder, banana skins, and stink bombs are the order of the day, and are vital in Jimmy's defence against the school bullies. Having already been expelled by a number of other schools, it's fair to say that Jimmy knows how to use his fists. Kicking and punching are the basic two moves that the new boy can perform from the outset, though Jimmy's repertoire will be expanded upon throughout the game. Humiliation is another factor of school life that will be familiar to many people, and Canis Canem Edit is no exception. During scraps, the option is there for Jimmy to humiliate his opponent, which can be anything from giving them a Chinese burn or pushing them to the floor. These moves can only be performed at certain times however, and are indicated by a red fist symbol on the HUD. Fights in the game will never end with the death of an opponent; instead when their health reaches zero, the bully just runs away.

Beyond the first chapter, Canis Canem Edit's boundaries push beyond that of Bullworth Academy, going into the surrounding town of Bullworth and its small number of distinct areas. Each of the cliques in the school have an affinity to one of the districts, which can come in handy when - for instance - Jimmy is ordered by the Biology teacher to infiltrate the Frat house and kill the prize Venus Fly-Trap that is there purely to 'taunt' him. In this instance, which was demonstrated at Rockstar, Jimmy has to go to the posher part of Bullworth and buy a new 'Preppy' top and have an appropriate haircut. Only then will he be allowed to enter the Frat house...

TVG also got the chance to play through another mission that took Jimmy on another excursion out of the school limits. Given the objective of collecting a number of items for the school's hygienically challenged cook (apparently sneezing into a pot of food 'adds flavour'...), Jimmy has to visit several of the stores around the retail district of the town. Since Jimmy is under-age, he's unable to take to the wheel of the cars and motorbikes that appear on Bullworth's roads, but that doesn't mean that the tearaway is left walking (or running) around. Bikes and his trusty skateboard are on hand for Jimmy to get from one area to another with relative speed (even in the corridors of school, though this is an act of rule-breaking). Don't expect Tony Hawk-style tricks in Canis either, as ollies are the extent of Jimmy's skateboarding prowess...he is just a kid after all.

The final mission that we tried out saw Jimmy race against a group of Greasers, who favour loitering around tweaking their bikes. Set during the height of winter, the mission can be hardwearing on thumbs as we tried to get Jimmy to pedal faster. In a nod to the likes of Road Rash, the bikers (including Jimmy) can punch each other as well as throw eggs and stink bombs at one another. It really shows the sort of variety that we can expect when Canis Canem Edit is released in a few short weeks.

It wouldn't be Rockstar if Canis didn't court controversy, and there are still elements within the game that could be seen as dubious - a mission where Jimmy has to collect dirty 'laundry' from the girl's dorms for the Gym teacher is one such mission that treads the line. That said, the humour in the game is overtly Rockstar in every sense, so there was always going to be double-meanings and cheeky comments making the script. In a nod to their premier franchise Rockstar has also included collectible items that are dotted around the various locations in the Canis world.

Like any school, Bullworth has its own set of rules and regulations that pupils must not break, such as hitting girls, prefects, or teachers, skateboarding in school, or playing truant. Being a kid, Jimmy will also need his sleep back in the dorms, so whilst roaming around after-hours can be done, he will fall asleep if it gets too late. Crossing those lines can mean that rule-breakers will have to face the voice of authority in Bullworth, the Headmaster. As you'd expect, punishments are dished out in Canis Canem Edit much in the same manner as the real world with confiscations and tedious chore-like activities. For instance, during the Winter Jimmy be forced to dig out the snow from around the teachers' cars; at another time of year mowing the football pitch may be the punishment of course. Usually these chores will be time-based, where failure to complete the task will mean that Jimmy will have to repeat his punishment...until he gets it right.

First off, a word to the right-wingers who condemned Canis without knowing much about it: it is not a Columbine Sim or a lesson in effective bullying. It's looking more like Grange Hill, Napoleon Dynamite, and Dennis the Menace rolled into one...a mischievous romp of pranks tomfoolery that looks set to cause a pang of recognition from anybody who has been to school. For the record, Canis Canem Edit looks to offer Rockstar a further string to their bow of titles when it's released at the end of October in North America and Europe thanks to pseudo-nostalgic content and trademark Rockstar humour. On unanswered question to Rockstar though: if successful, what's the chance of Canis 2 taking place during Jimmy's second year at Bullworth???

BULLY INFO

SPOnG.com

Rockstar has been very quiet about the details of Bully. Inevitably so – since the game’s announcement there have been outraged cries from the mainstream press that it’s yet another ‘demoralising sinister game’ from the house that GTA built. There’s no denying that this is getting the game some much sought after attention, but is all the negativity justified? Does Bully (or its new reformed name in Europe, Canis Canem Edit) aim to promote real life playground bullying?

When we visited Rockstar’s London headquarters to get a sneak preview of the game, it quickly became obvious that the Bully/Canis Canem Edit is anything but a promotion of school menacing. Hugh Michaels, before moving onto anything else, showed us a trailer of many other TV shows and films that highlighted school life and the highs and lows that came with it; “Many films, books and TV series are allowed to deal with school settings and the harsher side of it. Harry Potter and Grange Hill certainly did this… really all we’re asking is why can’t video games express those same ideas and issues?”

We then got stuck into the game, starting with the introduction of Jimmy Hopkins, the protagonist whose role you take play in Canis Canem Edit. Expelled from every other school in the area, this problem child’s last chance to get an education lies, almost inevitably, in the toughest establishment in the country – Bullworth Academy. On the car journey there, an argument erupts between Jimmy and his mother’s new husband – some rich guy that the poor kid has never seen before. Assuming the role of good parent, Jimmy’s mum dumps him at Bullworth’s school gates, announcing that she's going on honeymoon for a whole year. That’s love right there, that is.

It is here that you grasp control of Jimmy, and begin to explore the Academy’s courtyard. It’s an expansive place, and this represents just one small segment of the game world – Canis Canem Edit is split into five chapters (each owing to a season of the year) [how many seasons are there – Ed?] and later in the story you will be able to leave the school gates and reconnoitre the nearby town. Complex missions will require you to explore and reach different areas of the world, and the style is, as you would expect from the eyes of an impressionable child, larger than life. The courtyard itself is thronging with teachers, prefects and pupils, each with their own type of dress code depending on which clique they belong to (more on this later). The school’s classrooms can be found on one side, while boys and girls’ dorm houses are opposite each other – naturally the chance to sneak into places you’re not allowed to will arise sooner or later. You little scamp, you.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Right now Jimmy is in casual clothes and has just got a bollocking for not wearing uniform. So the aim right now is to reach the boy’s dorm, get to your new room and change clothes. As we’re exploring the courtyard for the first time, Hugh explains a little more about Jimmy’s character. “He’s a tough kid, he can look after himself – but he’s not a malicious thug. Throughout the game he will get into trouble and start fights as any kid would, but you mainly see it through defending himself or protecting weaker kids in the school”.

And right now we’re about to get a taste of that. Jimmy attempts to get into the boy’s dorm and is surrounded by bullies. “You know what time it is? Yep, time for a beat down!” yells one of the ugly beefcakes standing in your way. It turns out nobody really likes new kids much. Time to defend yourself we thinks. Rockstar’s Richard Barnes demos the fighting tutorial for us, and teaches us how Jimmy will be able to protect himself in the game.

Blackboard Jungle
Put simply, fighting is limited to two buttons. Square will make you attack, and is context sensitive – if you’re facing a bully, you’ll start punching them, but if you manage to get them on the floor the same button will have Jimmy kick them in the ‘happy sacks’. Triangle is used for grabbing and throwing, and you can use a combination of those two buttons to perform various fighting manoeuvres. It’s very simple to get the hang of, and very satisfying to be rugby tackling nasty kids to the ground, punching their face in wrestling style, then picking them up and launching them sideways.

At this juncture, if it wasn’t at all clear for players beforehand, it was certainly made obvious now that Canis Canem Edit is a very light-hearted look at school life, seen at a ‘larger than life’ scale. There’s no blood in this game – enemies don’t gain physical damage and nobody dies in Bullworth. What you do get to do, however, is humiliate them. Each bully or enemy has a health meter underneath their model, signified by a circle and a coloured bar within it. Once their energy is low, you can head towards them and press Circle to deal the ultimate blow. It can range from giving the loser a Chinese Burn to grabbing their hand and making them hit themselves in the face with it. It’s a very comedic style that serves to bring the funny side of your childhood into the spotlight. And in true Rockstar fashion, it’s presented in the same hyper-real approach that has resulted in Grand Theft Auto being lambasted in the mainstream press for so long.

A teacher breaks up the scuffle and, as only a purely oblivious teacher can, has a go at Jimmy for not being in uniform. Never mind the fact that about ten kids were on him at once, eh? Before the game continues, we are introduced to a chap called Gary – a kid that looks like a cross between a preppy kid and a bully himself. He befriends you, but doesn’t beat around the bush about his desires to take over the school and humiliate all the other cliques in Bullworth. After visiting the boy’s Common Room (featuring a soda machine to restore health, a TV and a noticeboard amongst other amusements) Jimmy heads to his room to change into uniform.

Although at the beginning of the game we only have the basic Bullworth sweater to choose from, later in the game players will be able to find and buy new items of clothing and can even customise how they want Jimmy to look. As we take a tour around his rather run-down pad, Hugh details the timeline structure. “Each day will have a structure to it, such as lesson times and curfew and each night you’ll need to come to bed to sleep… if you leave Jimmy awake beyond two or three in the morning he’ll pass out. You’ll be able to break the school’s curfew and head outside at night but there’ll be consequences for things like that if you’re caught”.

It’s just like being at a real boarding school, except without the buggery. We’re kinda nervous. One of the first missions we get to see in action takes place a little while ahead of the first chapter, and has Jimmy attempting to rescue a nerd as he gets ambushed by bullies. After the cut scene, you have to leg it past the courtyard around the school (which is quite a distance in itself) to reach Bucky before his life is drained. There are more instances of the combat system here, and we’re told that as the game progresses you’ll be able to learn more fighting moves and combos to perform.

We also see weapons for the first time, but instead of guns or knives we get balls, slingshots, stink bombs and cricket bats to satisfy our desire for administering a beating. Completing each mission sometimes gets you a new item to use, but it will always affect how different cliques in the school view you. In saving Bucky, our Nerd Respect shot up but as a countermeasure our Bully Respect went six feet underground. It’s this kind of balance between the different cliques that makes the game really dynamic and it could also affect how you play as well.

Walking on the Moon
There are Bullies, Nerds, 60’s rocker style Greasers and snobby rich kid Preppys to associate with, and you’ll be dealing with all of them at some point or another in the game. A later mission sees you vying for the attention of a Greaser chick (who, naturally, has been playing the field and actually revels in the competition) by way of a button-mashing bike race, with the winner getting a snog from the girl. Another has you fulfilling the objectives of a disgruntled science teacher as he asks you to sneak into the Preppy’s dorm and kill a magnificent plant that is in direct competition with his. One mission we played even involved sneaking into the girls’ dorm to steal their knickers for a pervy sports teacher, in a tongue in cheek and not-quite-so innocent moment.

Each clique has a different look, as already mentioned, but the differences also extend to their fighting styles and the way they approach a situation. Bullies will have no problem running in and beating the mess out of someone, while Preppy’s will believe in a clean sporting fight (they were trained by their daddy’s boxing trainer, don’t you know, and observe the Marquis of Queensbury rules). Although as we were legging it outside the Prep’s dorm (while sliding down the banisters – brilliant!) we found their approach less than sporting as one of them launched at us from behind. Foul play, old sport!

Richard then proceeded to demonstrate one of the main functions of Canis Canem Edit – and of course, school in general. Lessons. These form an integral part of the game, as you would imagine, and there are six different subjects that are placed within your timetable, including Gym, Science, Art and English. Each subject has five stages to complete and when you fulfil each stage you will advance to the next when you next have that lesson.

The classes themselves are built up of mini-games, and differ depending on what subject you’re learning – in English you get a set of letters and you must try to build as many words as you can (a bit like Countdown but without Des Lynam’s ‘tache), while Art will see you uncovering a picture while avoiding obstacles. “Each class gives you a new ability or opportunity when you complete it, so although you can skip classes, there’s another incentive to turn up”, Hugh explains.

Darn tootin’, yaw. After completing some classes we got to snog a bird (granted, she wasn’t great shakes but you gotta work your way up the chain haven’t you?) and apologise to a huge bully called Russell, both of which raised a certain skill or ability of ours. We’re told that when you pass a certain level of Science classes Jimmy will also be able to make his own stinkbombs and potions! Why would anyone want to skip class with that prospect in line?

But because it’s an open game, you can skip class if you really want to. Just be sure not to get caught. As you avoid learning there’ll be a ‘Truancy’ warning on the screen, and any prefect walking the halls will hunt you down if they spot you. You have the chance to escape their grasp by mashing Triangle if they catch you, but they’re very strong and sometimes you can end up right in the poop. To the right of your map, there’s a ‘Trouble Meter’, and whatever you do that’s against school rules will raise that meter depending on the severity of the offence.

Pinching girls’ bums will raise the meter a little bit, and will get you a bit of a scream and not much else. You can break into other kid’s lockers to nick whatever’s inside, and for every second you delay, your meter will continue to rise until someone spots you. Once we spotted a younger kid and decided to bully him by shoving him around and hitting him, we knew we were really in the mess – the Trouble Meter not only shot up to full alert, but a prefect materialised from out of nowhere (figuratively, not like he's been beamed down by Mr Scott) dived towards us, tackled us to the floor and started giving us ten ounces of pain. That was, of course, before they decided to send us to the Principal’s office.

The Corn Is Green
We see the Principal giving Jimmy a right telling off, and confiscating all of his items (save for his slingshot and skateboard). This will happen the first couple of times you decide to step out of line. After that the lanky headmaster will give you punishments to do around the school. We’re told this changes based on season – Jimmy may be asked to dig the teacher’s cars out of the snow in winter and mow the football fields in summer. A glorified minigame these punishments may be, but there is a sordid price.

Continue to get caught when causing trouble (which is very easy to do) and you will find yourself doing the same minigame punishment again. And if you get caught again, you’ll be doing the punishment again. And again. And again. Rather than promote bullying – which mainstream press such as the Daily Mail are all too quick to assume – Canis Canem Edit pretty much does the exact opposite, giving players tedious minigames to complete every time they do something against the rules.

“It’s not in Jimmy’s character to be a bully. It’s an open game so we can’t stop people picking on kids at random if they really want to, but if you start playing this like GTA and causing trouble it will really hamper your progress…” Hugh’s words immediately explain the game’s nature and pretty much the sole reason why this is no ‘bullying simulator’. More than anything else it has strict guidelines that prevent you from doing nasty things constantly, and Jimmy’s character is tested throughout his entire stay at Bullworth.

With Gary as his partner you’ll be able to get away with doing fun things to humiliate each of the cliques – using the slingshot (which can be used in either a third person or close-up first-person style view) to knock out Jocks while the sports teacher tells them to ‘Stop being so lazy!’ is pleasure you can’t measure. Even friendships are tested, with a revelation between Jimmy and Gary evident at the end of the first chapter, which results in you having to fight big chunky bully Russell.

Characters have personalities and have conversations with one another (most evident during our espionage into the Preppies' dorm) and almost everyone can be interacted with – hold down L1 and you have the choice to be nice to whoever you’ve locked on to, or be nasty to them – with the ability to give kids wedgies when standing behind them. With the different missions you’ll get to see in each chapter, varying depending on season, and the sheer diversity of how you can play the game, we have no doubt that Canis Canem Edit is going to bring a nostalgic glint into even those who hated school throughout their childhood.

As we were being dragged out of Rockstar, SPOnG definitely felt that Canis Canem Edit’s strength was not just in its sandbox world that the developers are so well known for, but also in the humanity of the game world, the colourful and exaggerated view of school life. The game speaks directly to everyone’s desire to relive their past and do things they always wanted to do as kids, but never got the nerve or the opportunity – nabbing girls’ underwear speaks volumes to us, for certain.

Those of you eager to get your hands on the game only have a few months more to wait when it is released this Autumn. Which happens to be the start of the new school year. Funny, we only just thought of that.
