The  menu:

Nachos and cheese/meat (This cheese comes out of a mystery can with nothing of a label on it.Same thing for the "meat".)

Chicken Nuggets (So fuckin rubbery and round I can play handball with them)

Chicken Paddy on Whole wheat bun (The paddy was good. The bread sucked. There was nothing else on the bun but that paddy.)

Cheeseburger on a whole wheat bun (The meat was good.)

Egg DISC (This was round egg discs in a plastic package. They heated them up and had the balls to call these things "egg sandwiches". So rubbery I can bounce the disc.)

French Toast Strips ( Jail food)

Bagels (The only good thing we had. They had to stop toasting them for our health.)

Pizza (Ahh, good old shitty cardboard rectangular pizza.)

Grill Cheese sandwich (The crust of the bread was harder than STEEL. We had to cut off the edges to actually eat this thing without losing any teeth.)

Salad (The salad there would have been good only if they didn't leave the back door open and have a sticky trap for flies hanging in the kitchen. The lunch lady tries to give everyone salad and we refused 'cause flies were landing on it.)

'cause it was crap. It was the worse shit I've ever had. It was like uncovering the truth behind school food and its health risks. I remember it mostly because it was a constant menu we had each week. We had the same meals for each day Mon -Fri. What we had this Mon. we will have next Mon.

It does sound like that industral-type jail food.  As a juvi, I was in the can once, and they brought me something like Sugar Pops with this extremly watered down "Milk" on them.  Stuff tasted so nasty, I couldn't go past the first bite.

The coolest thing I did was a project with the school where we were allowed to cook for ourselves one day. Everyone went online and found recipes we used. It was the best food I had in my 3 years there.

Yup. Do to budgets all of the students had to contribute what they can to the recipes.

That's why it was so tasty, it wasn't that industrialised shit.

You ever seen that stuff ?  Shit comes in great big huge cans with white labels on them, marked 'Beans' and nothing else ?  And it's the worst tasting slop imaginable.  Shit, Oliver Twist had better Gruel than that.

I had the same shit but it was "nacho cheese" and "meat". These cans didn't even have labels. They were just silver with a date. That's why we call them mystery cans. We pulled up the theory that they came from the army as shit they didn't want and gave to us.

Hey, about that toasted bagel....when I was in 3rd grade, my friend bought a bagel that had melted cheese or something on it. The part that was hanging off the bagel was in the shape of a chicken's foot! It was funny as hell and he was moving the bagel around the table as though it was hopping and making chicken sounds. I thought I was going to die laughing.

I was so shocked and wondering. What kind of a fucking health hazard is a toasted bagel?! They ruined the greatest food we had in that shithole.

Lucky for me I'm not Jewish, so I don't eat Bagels.

I ate the bagels 'cause it was the ONLY good food of the entire menu. They used to buy us a few pies of Papa John's but then the "budget issues" came along.

lol, what does being Jewish have to do with eating bagels? I eat 'em and I'm not Jewish.

Neither am I. I just like bagels. If you look at that menu bagels were a survival tool to me. I still like 'em though.
