Title: Russell and Hal theory
Post by: eellliioottt123 on June 20, 2014, 10:26:11 AM
I think it is possible that very early in the game, Hal was intended to be the leader of the Bullies, with Russell as the leader of the Jocks.

Here are some things that back it up:
1. Originally the final mission of Chapter 1 was a boss fight with Hal in the pool.
2. We know that Hal was a Bully at some point, because of his quote about Russell. It's possible that after deciding that Russell should be the leader of the Bullies, they planned to keep Hal as a regular one for a while.
3. Russell is huge and very stupid, traits that seem to fit Jocks more than Bullies.
4. Russell is the strongest student in the school, and is fought in Chapter 1. Wouldn't it make more sense for him to be fought later in the game, and for the strongest student to be a Jock?

Anyway, this is just a thought I had. What do you think?

All of this is already known.
This is all true.

I sorta wonder why Russell wasn't saved for the end, for usually the toughest boss fight is normally the end battle of a game.  It would have made a lot more sense to have Gary manipulating Russell to the end before running off when Jimmy beat Russell, thereby setting up the Final Showdown.  Woulda made more sense.

Oh, I was unaware that it was confirmed that Russell was once a jock

^That's just a theory.

Also, how come Ted has so little health?
Wouldn't it have made sense to have him be a way tougher boss? Especially since they supposedly 'control' the school to begin with?

It's an interesting hypothesis. Sort of makes you wonder if there was some sort of Beta Greaser which Hal replaced. The Bullies were unmistakably formed later in the game's development so I can imagine that the other cliques would have had a full house by then.

I always see Ethan being a greaser

If you manage to hit Ted before you're allowed too, he actually has Russell health, he'll also say "Bro, I'm on your side!!".

His health reduces to 1% when you've cleared all the Jocks.

Kinda weird.

Would it be possible that they made his health so low for testing purposes, but forgot to change it back to Russell's health?

Sounds plausible, but then again, wouldn't they have made Ted attack instead of running away taunting?

I think Bob would have originally been the Jock's leader, rather than Russell, since Russell may not have been as stupid in the beta, as he was a Punk, instead, then when Bob was removed, Ted was promoted to the leader of the Jocks, and Damon, the Prep, was changed to a Jock, which is also why there are 2 black Jocks, but only 1 black member of the other cliques

Good point.

------------------------------------

On other things that has been disscussed on this topic, I think I know why Ted is so easy at the boss fight.
Now, dont you find it kind of wierd that Ted THOMPSON is in the game at all?
I mean, if you had some old guy invent stuff about the game, saying you do horrible things in the game, and get it cancled, why would they want anything related to him in the game?
I think that Ted Thompson was actually a running joke on Jack Thompson.
Showing how he "Rules the school", yet once he steps into fighting someone he gets beat up so easly, so weak....
So R were taunting Jack Thompson throught the game, if he even noticed that.

Isn't that odd ?   I do so wonder if Thompson was a known potential adversary during the production of the game ?

Meh. Possible.
He did accuse the game of being a "Columbine Simulator" before it even hit the shelves.

Bully is just the Marijuana teaser that leads to a more violent hard-drug GTA.

Ted actually has an unlimited amount of health during The Big Game. I glitched the game where Ted and I were the only peds still around rather than the few jocks that spawn here and their. Russell's health is only 650 Ted's health has to be a hell of alot I hit him once and he seemed damn their invincible I saw his health go down slowly though. Ted besides Edgar was probably one of the toughest bosses in the game. Maybe they removed the main fight because of the release time.

Exactly. They want to slowly pull us into the world of hardcore sex/drug abuse and controversial (not to mention naughty) content.
They're corrupting our minds with stuffing dumb NPCs into lockers! It's propaganda... given to the innocents!!!

This is what I was reffering too!!

Never encountered the glitch but I did try to take down Ted but got jumped like 50 times before getting KO'd.

I'm going to presume Ted has that amount of health to stop players exploting the boss by knocking him out within seconds of the mission starting.

Ted actually never fights you, and you're not supposed to beat him up, it was probably because they ran out of time, since as you can see from his beta style, he would have originally been much harder to fight

I would have loved to fight Ted.
It was such a letdown when you can just throw a ball at him to conquer his entire clique.

I'se still pissed about no Clique Leaders in Free Roam after you beat them (except Russell).
So what that they all turn on you in the last chapter (except Russell...Imagine that).
So.....Endless Summer.....Where dey at ?

What about the unused quotes that Jimmy has?
He was supposed to be able to help homeless people find shelder, greet and interact with dogs.

Some members of cliques (such as Ethan from the bullies) were able to sell Jimmy weapons, similar to how Fatty can sell Jimmy a stinkbomb in "That Bitch".
So many cool features that were dropped.

It is sad that so many things were not included....Brings to mind watching a movie DVD (not that I'm going to any theaters anymore to watch stuff for, considering I can just rent the DVD later for 1/10 of the cost) where you go to the bonuses to watch the cut footage.  My reaction is almost always, "WTF did they leave that out for ?"

What's a DVD, old man? Is that like a dubstep subgenre or something?
